This generation's indifference to the pomp and circumstance of current politics isn't because we "don't understand it", it is because we realize that the baby boomers actually don't understand it. For us it feels like walking in halfway through a play and noticing that those who arrived on time don't realize it is a play. So when we are condemned for not feeling sorry for the plight of the characters our only proper reaction is to walk away and hope the other attendees will come to their senses soon. Unfortunately, if the baby boomers don't wake up soon, the end result wont be a curtain dropping on a confused crowd. It will be a country where everything is privatized and we are corporate slaves working for an income far below the poverty line with no rights and no voice.
