You're right about that.

It stinks to high heaven. I went to the last one in Columbus, and people actually booed Judge Napolitano when he mentioned how wretched the Patriot Act is.

These people are still buying the same pre packaged drivel from the same sellers. They've just slapped a Don't Tread on Me sticker on the wrapper.

Sickening.

Now the whole tea party movement has turned into a joke because of GOP infiltration of the entire thing.

I agree that the GOP has tried to claim the Tea Party movement as their idea. I never considered it a partisan movement at all... it just seemed like an "American" movement to me.

David, do you think the Tea Party movement is dead because of this? I hope not - it seems like such a good idea that I would hate to see it die because of this. Also, do you believe that people will stay away from Tea Parties because of the perceived affiliation with the GOP?

I think it may have just died with the Tea Party Convention today as the whole thing is a sham.

2012 is when there will be a real movement. Young people tend to vote in much small levels during midterm elections which is why REpublicans will gain tons of seats in the House and Senate in 2010.

I think the tea party movement may need to go away....the name is stupid anyway.

A TRUE Populist movement is gonig to happen. It has too....but this time it won't be conservatives and Republicans.

It will be the unemployed and the rest of everyone else struggling that will be doing it.....then it won't matter.

People keep screaming all they want about taxes and entitlement programs...but I'm telling ya...if those are taken away.....there will be hell to pay.

THe middle class in disappearing and the amount of poor is growing. When it shifts too far....as shown throughout history.....the tide will shift.

Actually it's a smart move by Palin. America doesn't want the right-wing fringe back in office, either and I can't say I blame them.

As much as I say that Bush bore the brunt of the criticism and hatred for his eight years of office when it really boiled down to others in the Republican party, I have to admit that not much got done in those 8 years with regard to our own country financially.

We need moderates in office who are willing to work together. The left and right fringe needs to be wiped out.

You socialists aren't going to like the outcome of this fighting.

These fights are over republican primaries.

And the movement has been to put real conservatives like Ron Paul in the general instead of RINOs.

It doesn't matter if a RINO or a real conservative gets put in the general in terms of who will win the general election.

As MA shows us, the odds are the republicans are going to win.

There is in-fighting all over the place in republican primaries as corporate funded RINOs try to bully their way to a primary win over real conservatives.

The democrats don't have this problem because they are all corporate shills, thus it doesn't matter who wins their primaries.

Wow, touchy subject there mate? If Ron Paul is the future of the Republican Party, then I really do fear for the United States. I believe in shared powers within America. I think that your country does best when one party has the Presidency and the other has Congress. If hard-line Libertarians are the future of the GOP, then I fear you will not get elected in the numbers needed to maintain power sharing.

The Democrats need the Republicans to keep them dynamic and likewise on the other side, if any one party takes over for too long, they will stagnate and the country will suffer. The GOP needs to be a big-tent party to survive. The Democrats already are, much to the annoyance of Republicans that try to court the African American and union worker vote.

For once Former Governor Palin has done something I agree with. Senator John McCain is a good man in my book. I may not agree with him on all of his platforms but I do respect him, and we need people like him in politics.
