Joel Osteen, oddly enough. Tho in a more obscure way I suppose. ( I promise this is on topic!)

I used to be a "grace abounds no matter what" "Christian" and was a pretty big follower of Joel and others like him. One day I was feeling exceptionaly low and decided to watch him "preach" when his show was on. So I did and felt slightly better as watching him used to make me feel better. lol. So I decided to find some clips of him on Youtube.

Before I did this I was about the most right wing conservative you could find. But after watching a few eye opening videos about Mr. Osteen I stumbled across a man ranting about "Osteenians" and how they were dumb sheep, and had no idea of the goings on in the world. He then started ranting about 9-11 and the patriot act and so on and so forth...

Being the good little Christian that I was I thought... No! The government could have no part in such a disaster. It must be true that a terrorist living in a cave was able to bring America to its knees for a day right?

So the next several weeks I start researching everything I can find and my world is utterly turned upside down. I fell head first into the proverbial rabbit hole. I have found the truth and am no longer a media/government loving zombie.

TLDR; Mr. Osteen is a wolf and his false doctrines lead me on a strange path of discovery of "9-11 truth" and beyond.

Thank you for taking the time to read my first post.

But the real starter was when I turned the TV on to watch 20/20, and the station seemed to be hijacked. There was like a 2 hour speech about how humans and aliens together have bases on the moon and on mars.

Say what?! First I've ever heard of this.

Okay, I'm sorry to quote this, yet again, but could you please provide more info on this? I'm finding NOTHING on it through Google or YouTube.

It's very simple. 20/20 was scheduled to be on (as usualy, 10 on Friday). Instead, an ultra controvoursial and I suppose ultra confidential speech was shown with no ads or anything. I asked on the internet and it seems a few other people saw it too. It seemed to me that the station was hijacked, or maybe a disgruntled employee decided "F*** it".

The station was NTV, which is a Canadian channel. That would explain why there isn't much talk about it. Most likely, in the US, people were just watching 20/20 as usual.

It was when the cable went down for a few days.

I just turned to the Internet and typed in UFO since I was bored and for some unknown reason I landed here. It was around the late 90s.

A friend of mine made a little website discussing various conspiracy theories, like Iran-contra, CIA drug trade, and that sort of thing. He asked me to take a look to see what I thought.

I thought he was nuts at the time. But I poked around a bit, and found out that he had all the facts right. He was a member of ATS, and introduced me to the website, probably back about 8 or 9 years ago, but I don't think I actually signed up for another year or two. Frankly, at the time, I still thought you were all a bunch of tinfoil hat kooks, so it took me some time before I actually joined. :p

From there... well, the rest is history. And I guess I'm a tinfoil hat kook now, too.

I was lucky enough to take a year and a bit off work to find myself and I did. I used to work in the City of London with the big banks and Investment firms and was a true Thatcher baby. After 9/11 I started questioning the whole set up, something about 9/11 and then 11/7 in the UK just did not seem right. If you get up early, travel to work, come home late, eat dinner and sit in from of Big Brother or your XBox the world just passes you by and you believe the matrix that is put in front of you.

I like documentaries and came across "The End of Suburbia" and started reading people like Richard Heinberg, which lead onto Micheal Ruppert and then I started to see it.

Afterwards I came across ATS, other writters and then hooked on Youtube. It's all out there if you take the time to read.

Great to see how others woke up to the real world we live in.......lovely thread.

As a child I became interested in UFOs and read widely on the subject. That provided me an awareness of the concept of conspiracy and cover up.

It wasn't until I happened upon David Icke's "And the Truth Shall Set You Free" about ten years ago that I awoke to this possibility of a global elite with a nefarious agenda and the potential global and personal consequences of their actions.

I haven't been the same since.
