Strange Mars Image ?

Hello All,

We have here an image taken from Google Mars.

Let me say it has a certain familiarity to it for now.

I grow tired of the attacks, so I'll keep my mouth shut for this one.

I think i see what you're getting at.

You see a similarity between this image and the Clementine image of 'the machine' from so and so crater (brain won't summon it's name) which vanished from the official mission image browser.

Edit to add:
Except the scale is way off. These layered rock 'shelves' are only a few hundred feet in size, the 'machine' from Clem, was many miles in size.

I agree, there is a certain something.

Other than that, there's the 'melt flowing downhil' all over the place. (NASA say it is CO2 thawing...)

Strange how the CO2 frosting, only ever seems to melt in a localized area..and looks like a geyser shooting out of a fissure..

Blurry pictures of dirt.

Then; blurry pictures of dirt put through a "sharpen image" filter.

So we have an extremely limited resolution image with added digital distortion.

I'm not playing games at all.

The image matches the image I uploaded. Your seeing a search box in google earth which doesn't clear by itself. It was a search I did a while back. Has nothing to do with the image presented. Sorry you see nothing unusual, it might be my old eyes also seeing stuff where there is nothing.

Yes there is a point to my thread, I want to know if I am seeing things or not. I'm getting older and want to be sure my eyes are ok.

I see a machine in the foreground and directly behind to the left is another. There is what looks like a giant skull or head in the background sideways.

So, what is it that makes you conclude that the dark spot is a "machine?" Given that it is a photo of a rock strewn dry planet, is it not more likely that it is a .... rock of some sort?

Also you stated that you see what "looks like" a face of some sort. The key to that is the "look like" part. It may look to you like something, but that does not mean that it is what you believe it to be. We all have seen clouds that look like interesting objects. Our brain is prewired to recognize faces, where or not they are actually faces. :-) is a good example. It is simply a few dots and a short curved line, but if you tip your head sideways, my guess is that you will see a face. It is still simply a few dark pixels on a screen and not a true face.

While I am not stating that you are 100% wrong in your opinion on the photo in question, you must realize that you would have to offer more than "it looks like" before anyone would take a more serious consideration of the item. Blurry photos can be interpreted in numerous ways. Give us something more to go on that offers more supporting evidence than mere speculation.
