This is like my friend who says he can correctly pick the outcomes of sporting events at a win rate of 70-80%.

That is, until he started properly keeping track of his results and found he was only around 45%.

It is a well known psychological phenomena. You fixate on all the times you are successful and unconsciously forget about all the failures.

I believe there may be some real psychics. They are rare and know they have a gift.

There's quite a difference between genuine psychic phenomena, and good guessing or cold-reading, or even just basic intuition. In addition, one could be a good deductive reasoner (take Sherlock Holmes or the character in the Psyche tv show).

Most psychics who have a perceived talent have a focus in a particular area, such as aura-reading, psychometry, telepathy, precognition, etc. There are some good sources and sites if you're really interested in delving into it, that any decent search should find. I wish I had more time to devote to it. So far, most impressive thing I can do is affect street lights in a bad way, but at least it's visual, and pretty unnerving for any witness doubting it.... Still not sure why some seem more affected than others though... There was actually a CNN story about the phenomenon not too many years ago (Google on SLIDER Debbie CNN). Street Light Interference Data Exchange Receiver phenomenon....

I've been very active psychically and I have way too many synchronicities to be coincedental I must be subconsiously a psychic heh....
