Mehmet Ali Agca leaves prison, wants money for his story

Mehmet Ali Ağca, who attempted to assassinate Pope John Paul II in 1981, has been released from prison in Turkey, the BBC said on January 18 2010.

Reports in Turkish media said that Ağca would now undergo a physical examination at the Gülhane Military Academy of Medicine to assess his fitness for military service. Although Ağca is now 52 he is technically eligible for military service, having failed to serve in the Turkish military in the first place.

When some newspaper buy his story we may find!

I thought that he was convicted to life sentence.
I remember the pope visited him, and forgive him for the shots.

He had a lot of time to build up a story that may end in a movie.

as for his military fitness evaluation - WTF ? sounds to me like the turkish authorities are attemption to ` keep hold of him ` despite his prison release

they cannot possibly have any rational need for a 52 yearold conscript in times of peace

Agca has declared himself to be the second Messiah and harbinger of humanity's doom. In a typically bizarre statement distributed on his release from a high-security prison near Ankara he said: "I proclaim the end of the world. All the world will be destroyed in this century. Every human being will die in this century.

"The Gospel is full of mistakes. I will write the perfect Gospel."
He has also volunteered to go to Afghanistan to kill Osama Bin Laden, al-Qaeda's leader.

He doesn't sound as believable as most prophets and messiahs on these boards, especially regarding 2012. Although being a murderous lunatic can be a major barrier in his future career.
