The movie Avatar, 2012 and a change or is it a choice?
This thread is inspired by the James Camerons movie Avatar. This movie in my opinion is all about our industrialized civilization/society vs. tribal
civilization/society. Here on Earth the conflict between these two ways of life always results in a culture being destroyed and people being killed,
enslaved and scattered, because they were unlucky enough to be living on land that had value to our modern way of life. The land is then used, often
stripped of anything of value. The Indians of North and South America suffered the same fate and it still continues to this day in the Amazon.
The discussions about how many after seeing this movie suffer from depression is very real to me, and I think I'm starting to understand why.
We have countless threads about end of the world scenarios here on ATS and across the internet, these discussions are now apart of our daily lives as
the msm are now showing films and documentaries and the discussions are no longer a fringe topic. Its not uncommon to hear these discussions in
restaurants, the break room at work or on a train.
Many expect a change to occur in 2012, but what if we are focusing on the wrong issue regarding 2012? What if before this change we are all faced
with a choice? Each and everyone of us.
How would you rather live your life? How would you want your children to live? Would you want them to live and grow up in our modern would we have
created by molding our environments to serve us? Or would you rather them grow up in a world were they learn and grow in a world were they are apart
of the environment?
Could you walk away from technology? Could you walk away from the 9 to 5 job and a paycheck? Could you walk away from cell phones and the internet
and discussion forums?
What if people in mass did indeed just walk away from our current form of society? Could our society survive? Should it survive?
Do you feel that change is coming? Do you have a desire to return to nature? Do you want to live and work with your family and friends and
neighbors? Perhaps this is what happened to the Mayans? We still don't know why they went into decline. I wonder how many people or what
percentage would it take to cause our civilization to collapse?
The movie has grossed more that 1.4 billion dollars worldwide and growing everyday, it has touch us all who have seen it in similar ways.
Pandora could be Earth, or maybe it once was. The New age is right around the corner, will we continue on the path of greed destroying our Earth and
each other? Or will we make the right choice and love each other, work for each other, care for each other and Know/See Each other?
CNN had a story last week even with 10% unemployment that 45% of us employed hate our jobs.
I read somewhere that when the second plane hit the Trade Center in New York on 9/11 that satellites in orbit recorded a spike in Earths magnetic
field and this one group emotional outburst by so many people worldwide awoken our world conscience. I'm not sure if this is true or not, but I do
think this movie might be having the same affect.
So many people in our world must take Prozac or Zoloft just to cope with everyday life. Is this as good as it gets for us or is there a better way to
live? Perhaps we should explore this more, I think we are designed to live a certain way and have fallen off the path centuries ago.
Please forgive my ramblings, but I have had a thought and thought I would share to see if anyone else is on this level of thinking/feeling.
