WOW... I knew this one would get posted by someone.
Men have been throwing around this list of out-of-context, twisted Bible verses for years. I'm really not impressed. Come up with your own complaints please.

no context! your comparisons are like me saying the sky is blue today and grey tomorrow, neither would be false! you are taking quotes with "no context"

so our university system around the world is full of lies and fakes, yet your church is absolute truth? I have seen science work in my school many, many, many times because it can be replicated and proven in front of me, with my own eyes, by myself and others. You are worried that others will not listen, yet you fail to listen yourself. Oh well, its no skin off my back! Ill just have to go with a Barney Frank quote on this one and say,

"Having a conversation with you would be like trying to argue with a dining room table"
-Barney Frank

What does this have to do with the OP? are you responding to someone, or just venting your anger?

If you go to the link and scroll down the page, towards the bottom, there are longer sections of the scriptures which give you a bit more context. Some of these need no context. I challenge you to find reasonable explanations for all of the contradictions on that site.

And these are just the contradictions! There are some fantastic quotes regarding human sacrifice, murder, rape, slavery, and so on.

oops, sorry. Response to trueperspective. I just feel that religious arguments sometimes get very heated very quickly. I do not believe religion is wrong, and is an important part of many peoples lives around the world. It is just not part of mine. I know there are tons of questions and problems with science, but I know and accept that. However I feel that religious people often do not question or consider problems with their form of truth, and it comes off as someone trying to convert me, which is what the OP said in the first place what he was trying not to do! Got a little heated, my bad... Sorry if I offended anyone! No harm meant!

ive seen this site..most of these are extremely basic and show a complete lack of any study at all..ill address a few

1. God is satisfied with his works
Gen 1:31
God is dissatisfied with his works.
Gen 6:6

very simple..in gen 1:31 the earth is perfect as god made it...in gen 6:6 man has fallen and the world is now lucifers..

2. God dwells in chosen temples
2 Chron 7:12,16
God dwells not in temples
Acts 7:48

..2chron 7:12,16 never says god is going to dwell there..dont know where he got that interpretation

3. God dwells in light
Tim 6:16
God dwells in darkness
1 Kings 8:12/ Ps 18:11/ Ps 97:2

god is light..1 kings says he will be in a dark cloud because the priests could not minister otherwise..in ps 18 david is reflecting on what god has done for him over his life..the point of ps 97 is that even though sin surrounds him (the darkness) he will triumph

im only doing these 3..this website is a joke..it tries way too hard to make the bible false and makes contradictions when there are none..it takes 2 verses and says the dont add up without the text being in context..i could say "" oh at one point god says yes..oh over here he says no..hypocrite...""...thats not how it works..

you obviously know nothing about it...it was not written to be what we made it...humans corrupted it in to a form of control yes..but nowhere does the bible say church is necessary...it does tell you to fellowship as in matt 18:20 it says when 2 or three are gathered in my name i am there with them

no I dont believe buddha is burning in hell anywhere! I believe buddha is an enlightened being, and possible tutored my Jesus! what does that have to do with the price of rice in china? does that mean the bible should not be taken as a message. the message being, my son is your salvation? I never said the bible was perfect or infallible, but there is a mesaage there. we all have to shoose our own path, and if you ridicule another man for his path, you better show the right one, or you are no better than he is.

What is the importance of your "contradictions" to my enlightenment or salvation? I have much more important things to do than prove you read to much into things.

The message is simple- Jesus is our savior. This statement does not mean that the bible has not been minipulated by man, and it does not mean that man has not been controlled by fear through the bible, but to me that is religion and polotics, not Christianity. Christianity is "my relationship" with Jesus, and none of you have the right to question "my relationship" with anyone!

What happens to the babies who die without being baptized, do they go to hell? According to the Bible that's what happens. Also, why are the Jewish the (who wrote the book) chosen people and the rest of us are not, unless we join them?

no it does not say that in the bible..this page briefly explains accountability for children gracethrufaith.com...

also..those who literally have no idea about god and jesus christ are not held accountable..

and nowhere does it say we have to join the jews lol..the church is separate from the jews..

Oh... surely you are not refering to "miracles" are you. Because according to you those don't count as proof of God. But now you are using "miracles" to argue that the God of the muslims is real. That is the most hypocriitical thing I have EVER HEARD. I think it's HILARIOUS when atheist argue against Christianity by trying to show another religion is equally valid. what a laugh riot. You have offically lost all creditibilty.

I apologize to you....The OP has been presenting the I am right, you are wrong message regarding the Bible as a complete work of fact, I mistakenly assumed you were defending him, I apologize.

My argument has been that the Bible is not all fact. That I'm sure we can agree on. So it shouldn't be followed blindly! I have absolutely no problem with faith in God, I have it myself but no one can claim to know the whole truth! Therefore no one should assume that they are correct and everyone else is wrong.

This is NOT targeted at your faith, it is targeted at the general debate that is going on here.

well...that is no way to start a civil discussion..but i guess when you here things you dont agree with you get upset, so i apologize..i would love to know where you got your history degrees and in what area you specialize...there is more evidence for jesus christ than just about any other ancient figure..

i have rigorously studied the claims of the bible..please show me where the things i have said are false...also..please show me how i was wrong about things the quran states..i would love to see that since you are so knowledgeable..

and you using christianity and islam as the two sides is pathetic..islam would be one of the easiest to transfer from (maybe not physically, but mentally) all they need to do is read what their quran claims and what the bible claims..everyone has a free will and can make their own decision..

your post came across quite childish i must say..if you want to call me wrong please support your claims..

Ahh, yes I think you are more confused then you know. There is a HUGE difference between observable, repeatable science and junk science and theories being taught as truth because the only other logical alternative is to accept an Inteligent design. I implore you to learn the difference.

One, I am not nor have I claimed to be an athiest. Please leave your assumptions at the door. And two, I think it is obvious that the intent of the statement was that having faith does not equal having fact.

islam differs from christanity in many core aspects...

one being the trinity..another the divinity of christ..and the fact that the quran claims to talk about the same god but the jews are not special? and it completely contradicts the god of the bible?

just because they do have some similarities does not put them in the same boat at all...dont be naive
