Several news outlets are carrying the story of a Russian researcher who has died after a lab accident exposed her to the deadly
Ebola Virus. Ebola causes a hemorrhagic fever , after an incubation period
that ranges from 2 to 21 days. The onset of illness is abrupt and is characterized by fever, headache, joint and muscle aches, sore throat, and
weakness, followed by diarrhea, vomiting, and stomach pain. A rash, red eyes, hiccups and internal and external bleeding may be seen in some
patients.

A researcher in a heavily guarded Siberian virology laboratory died after pricking herself with a syringe containing the deadly Ebola virus.
All efforts to save her failed and she died on May 19, two weeks after accidentially injecting herself at the Vektor State Research Centre of
Virology and Biotechnology in Novosibirsk, central Siberia.
Vektor State Research Centre of Virology and Biotechnology hold some of the few remaining samples of Smallpox and has been involved in the study of
SARS and HIV. It is also reported to be a former Soviet Bioweapons lab.
