Reid may have used politically incorrect words, but he was correct; Mr. Obama's a light skinned Black and uses the English language well.

But the point of all this is not the truth of Reid's statement. He might even be correct in what he says. No, it is the double standard of crucifying a Republican and giving a democrat a pass.

What, do I amuse you?
Do you think I'm funny?
Funny how?

So are you saying Reid should NOT step down?

This is more proof that WHITE IS RIGHT is pretty much what a lot of people actually advocate and practice. I've previously listed your actions as a "problem" and here you are doing exactly as I stated, bravo!

Hello Alexandro,

Well, you do. I think you are very funny.
Comedy is rooted in the perception of the observer.

Correct, I don't believe Reid should step down.

Why should he step down? in your words.

I'll debate you if you put forth a rational position.
Give it a shot, and I will respond.

Seems to me you were more irate than amused by one of my previous comments, which if you read again you will notice it was nothing but a sarcastic lead-in to point out the double standards at play here.

Personally I don't think anyone that makes comments like that should ever be FORCED to resign.
That includes Democrats, Republicans, comedians, talk show hosts, etc.
Hell, why should they?

If people get offended, so freakin' what!

If one person despises another, there is no remedy in the world that will make that one person like the other!
Even if there were such a remedy, something tells me the Dems would be trying to administer it by force.

I'm sick and tired of the PC police, and I ain't talking about computers.
I'm even more sick and tired of Democrats that always seem to get as free pass, no matter what they do or say.
If you don't see it, then you should get your eyes checked, and please don't wait for Obama to tell you he'll pay for your Dr's visit, because he won't.
You know damn well if some Repub had said anything like this, JJackson and ASharpton would be in full rampage mode.
I watched Donna Brazil this morning saying something about Reid's "poor choice of words" BUT she will still support him.
YAWN!
Puh-leeze, gimme a freakin' break!

Anyway, you might be surprised to know that, NO, I don't think Reid should not step down.
I do think they should rake him over the coals for a little bit, but resign, no.
I believe in trying him in the court of public opinion because I would much rather wait just a few more months and watch Dirty Harry cry like a baby when he loses his seat in November.

In the 1950s Negro was an appropriate term. In the late 1960s the appropriate term became Black. Remember things like "Black Power". I was a teenager during those years when African Americans chose to be called Black.

Sometime later the proper reference to race became "African American"

I'm pretty sure that in the next decade or two as new generations come to power, that the term African American will be viewed as a negative and will be replaced once again with a new term.

This will of course give the impression that some sort of progress is being made.

Thank you Alexandro,

A - Seems to me you were more irate than amused by one of my previous comments, which if you read again you will notice it was nothing but a sarcastic lead-in to point out the double standards at play here.

Z - I don't see where I'm irate, if you mean this thread. I do go off if something really disturbs my sensibilities. I'm a sensitive person.

A - Personally I don't think anyone that makes comments like that should ever be FORCED to resign.
That includes Democrats, Republicans, comedians, talk show hosts, etc.
Hell, why should they If people get offended, so freakin' what!

Z - Sometimes it is the correct thing to do, for example Trent Lott. Sometimes people will say things that damage their position, and their ability to be effective representatives of their base. It depends what you say, where, and the context. It's not about people being offended.

A - If one person despises another, there is no remedy in the world that will make that one person like the other! Even if there were such a remedy, something tells me the Dems would be trying to administer it by force.

Z - Perhaps there is no remedy, but that does not mean "anything goes". There you go with the spin. What democratic administration? can you call oppressive, repressive, or totalitarian, in the last 100 years.

A - I'm sick and tired of the PC police, and I ain't talking about computers.
I'm even more sick and tired of Democrats that always seem to get as free pass, no matter what they do or say.

Z - Who are the PC police? What dems got a free pass? You mean Edwards? Spitzer? The guy with the money in the freezer? Blaggo? I can name a lot of Republicans that are serial bigots that get a pass all the time. Cheney, Rove, Bush, the AG from Texas, Justice Scalia. I can keep going.

A - If you don't see it, then you should get your eyes checked, and please don't wait for Obama to tell you he'll pay for your Dr's visit, because he won't.You know damn well if some Repub had said anything like this, JJackson and ASharpton would be in full rampage mode.
I watched Donna Brazil this morning saying something about Reid's "poor choice of words" BUT she will still support him. YAWN!
Puh-leeze, gimme a freakin' break!

Z - I don't. Obama will never pay a penny of my insurance, neither will a Republican. I bet you I kick some in for you though. Sharpton is not the hinge pin of the dem party. We know Al in NY. Did you expect the party to collapse? That's a Republican specialty. Take a nap, you can snap at me later.

A - Anyway, you might be surprised to know that, NO, I don't think Reid should not step down.
I do think they should rake him over the coals for a little bit, but resign, no.
I believe in trying him in the court of public opinion because I would much rather wait just a few more months and watch Dirty Harry cry like a baby when he loses his seat in November.

Z - Not surprised at all. I said before you seemed intelligent, I just wanted to see more than quip and run, from you. He's being raked over the coals, we will see what happens in November. You guys struck too soon. Obama, has you in scope, and lasered. Why did you think he did Health Care first?

I still think you are a funny guy, and the one irate, appears to be you.

Thanks,

Ziggy Strange
