Airport Security Bumps Joan Rivers from flight due to passport

She was trying to fly home from holidays in Costa Rica. Apparently, her passport gives contains an "AKA" - (Also known as).

In her case, Joan Rosenberg aka Joan Rivers. I would imagine many of the famous would have this on their passports.

In any event, it was enough to get her bumped from her flight home..

Joan is a spitfire. I love her and her resilience.
Nothing gets or keeps her down. She bites back.
I am sure she will get a lot of mileage out of this experience.
We haven't heard the last of this, I assure you!

I was just telling a buddy yesterday how I want to go for a holiday somewhere in South America for a week or two.
I guess I am nixing those plans now...I am an AKA and not going to put up with that kind of BS.
They have all kinds of technology and still can't distinguish a terrorist from Joan Rivers????

Yeah it's pretty stupid, but at least she isn't getting some kind of preferential treatment.

At some point in the future, every American will be on that list. As the definition of a terrorist or potential dangerous person gets broader. With so many people in the world, very few names are unique except the freak names like Moon unit Zappa.

Then what?

Will we be required to have dna checks, fingerprints checks, or being cleared by local law enforcement first? Will we be required to obtain special travel documents from Homeland security?

I really fear for the day that a terrorist uses a car bomb in this country again. The amount of rights we will lose to that will make the airports a day in the park.

Yeah you're right...its nice to see a celebrity get treated without special privledges.

Somebody should update her wikipedia page to show that she is now declared a terrorist threat. Its important to keep wikipedia updated to such a event for the intellagence community.
