"Here it comes... here it comes."
The black Ford SUV slows down to a crawl, then stopped 25 feet in front of the river bank,
lights off and melting into darkness.
Ten minutes pass; another set of headlights approach.
"Ok boys - this is it ".
"Let them make the exchange, then we move".
Tyler is sitting with his back against a bridge pillar, clutching his .357, wondering how the hell he let himself get talked into this.
Two days ago, his brother and he were sitting on the couch drinking a few
beers when their brother-in-law Brian called with "the score to make em all rich".
Brian said he had been watching Drug Dealers making exchanges for 3 days in a row
and these guys looked like serious players.
The headlights pulled up alongside the SUV and turned off their lights, another
black SUV was all he saw before darkness engulfed the riverbank once again.
"Ok let them do their thing, and on my word we move ". Brian whispered.
Tyler was sure he saw his brother's head nod agreement, as he realized he was
doing the same.
Brian had explained he saw one breifcase bulging with stacks of bills as they opened them up before exchanging the cases. He told them he had staked
this spot out and
they had shown up 3 days in a row; that they were asking to be ripped off.
The doors of both SUV's opened up, two men got out driver sides holding breifcases
and both approached the first SUV's hood, and opened up the cases.
"Get ready..." Brian whispered, as the men were mumbling barely audible.
"Get ready..."
"Now "!!
What transpired was a blur - in slow motion - if that was possible.
When Brian yelled "Now!", to the best of Tyler's memory the men turned and someone started
shooting. Flashes of light, accompanied with thunder for what seemed like a lifetime.
Then, it was dark and quiet again.
"Holy #!" his brother Brandon shouted. "You ok Ty!?" as he dropped his gun.
Tyler just nodded. He couldn't speak.
He looked down at the two dead men, not registering Brian kneeling at the cases.
" We hit the jackpot boys, looky here. We're rich!" Brian shouted.
Tyler fell to his knees alongside Brian while Brandon stood above them.
"There must be millions!" Brian screamed as he emptied the briefcase on the ground.
At the same time Brandon had picked up the 2nd case and emptied its contents on the
ground to a muffled thump sound. A large cylinder, about 10 inches long and 2-3 inches
thick, dull silver in color, was all that fell.
"What the hell is this..." Brandon muttered, mostly to himself.
The other 2 were putting the stacks of money back into the case, looking over Brian shouted.
"Leave that and help us , we gotta get outta here!" Picking up their guns and not looking back,
the three of them ran off into the darkness.
Ten miles outside of the city limits, two men waited in a safe house.
One man pacing and chain smoking , the other lying on his bed reading the Koran.
The chain smoker was thinking of his family; of his dead 4 year old daughter; how he would never see them after tonight.
How they were gonna show the ifidel Americans that an "eye for a eye" was going to
come to them in the shape of a "dirty bomb".
As soon as the last piece was delivered, the Americans would see.
An "eye for an eye".
