Kind optician gives dying man last view of Christmas

www.cambridge-news.co.uk

A terminally ill man has paid to tribute to an optician who gave him the gift of clear sight for his last ever Christmas.

Lung disease sufferer Malcolm Jones, 66, says he has been “overwhelmed” by the generosity of an optician at Tesco’s Bar Hill store, who paid for his pair of spectacles out of his own pocket and ensured they arrived in time for the festive season.

Random acts of kindness can be amazing and powerful events such as this fantastic gift from one person to another.

The glasses may not have cost the Earth but the act of kindness was priceless and lit up another soul in his last days.

It certainly makes my day when, among the mainly depressing news we are served each day, a nugget of gold is discovered.

According to modern economic theory, the optician who did this is a moron and an idiot who broke from capitalism ideals.

We should all be very angry at him for acting like a socialist and perpetuating the pitfalls of acting unselfishly.

Explanation: And that post clearly shows up the TOTAL MORAL BANKRUPTCY of the "modern economic theory". St*r and

Personal Disclosure: S&F the OP'er and the thread! BRILLIANT story. Has Totally cheered me up! I'd like to meet that Optician and personally thank him! He reminds me of Fred Hollows and his attitude!

P.S. I'm still
with JOY as I type this out and I hope that lasts a very long while.

It is stories like these, that shows, humans can show kindess, now and then. Brilliant story, Starred and Flagged. Just apitty the rest of humanity cannot show this kindness to others.

It's not a very clever marketing message if it is one - "Once a year we go out of our way to help one of our customers!"

I believe it is quite simply an act of kindness on a personal level - the only problem is that we hear more about war and it's resulting deaths than we do about love and acts of kindness such as that shown in the article.

I know we have a long way to go toward being peaceful race but it is at least IMO reassuring to see these signs along the way.
