Yahoo News

SAN'A, Yemen – The U.S. closed its embassy in Yemen on Sunday, citing ongoing threats by the al-Qaida group that has been linked to the failed attempt to bomb a Detroit-bound U.S. airliner on Christmas.

"The U.S. Embassy in San'a is closed today, January 3, 2010, in response to ongoing threats by al-Qaida in the Arabian Peninsula ... to attack American interests in Yemen," the embassy said in a message on its Web site. It did not say how long the embassy would remain closed and an embassy spokesman reached by phone would not comment on whether there was a specific threat.

This just made it onto Yahoo News around 30 minutes ago it said. I am wondering if this is signaling a start to more bombings by the US in Yemen within a few more days and the US dosent want anyone killed at their embassy by retaliation. Or this may just blow over and the embassy reopens in a few days with nothing else really happening. Im thinking we are about to bomb a whole lot pretty soon.

what this is, is the US now showing just cause to go into another country on a trumped up unjustifiable war to control another part of the globe.

the wheels of propoganda are well and truly in motion

It looks like Yahoo just updated the article. It now says US, and UK closed their embassys. When I originally posted, it was just the US.
