That is just one of the lines in the song Suppers ready.....Peter Gabriel at the height of his creativity when he was with the Group Genesis was imbibing in mind expanding substances, which he greatly down plays today.

Im sure some of you with more open minds and a good knowledge of the esoteric will undoubtedly glean things from theese lyrics as i have and i will also be waiting to hear from those of you who share the same country as Peter.

I beleive the use of theese substances opened up his mind and gave him a view of the apocalypse.

yes, but the end of the song seems to speak of a new beginning and not doom and gloom.....

good observation.....there is also a point in the song and i dont think its in the lyrics....but some children sing the line "we will rock ..rock you little snake...we will keep you snug and warm .....
ill find out at what point .....and post it here after i listen to the song again..ill put it on and listen soon as i get a chance...


i found it and it is in the lyrics not sung out side of them........

also ....the frog was prince
the prince was a brick
the brick was an egg
the egg was a bird

then in the song there are two lines and one line says...." and then ill change into a human being....

he could have been influenced a bit from the bible whether he was actually foreseeing the apocalypse mmm? he could have been predicting the lord of the rings. good lyrics

i have often wondered about drugs opening your perception. didn�t the native american indians heavily indulge in this practice? i know with cannabis perception is heightened, especially colours, vision. as for the snake bit there has always been alot of that stuff in the music world about snakes, jim morrison the lizard king, being a good example.

I think if anyone dropped acid and read revelations or any other book on the apocolypse they could have some pretty intense experiences!

This is a long shot but here it goes. What about the people behind the people behind the music???? I think there are ALOT of occultic forces and players in the music industry. if you research the beatles, they were involved in many occult things.I mention them because they were the FIRST supergroup, or band of people who really accessed the hearts of millions, and up to today probably billions of people.I also read stuff on the masons and other occult societies and their connection to the music industry. Some sites even claim that the music industry is controlled by masons and is a tool for the NEW WORLD ORDER. Now any muscian or artist is around a host of people during their career, and many of them have an interest in the occult. It is actually mind blowing if you research the number of people who have had deep fascination and involvement in the occult who became superstars. Never underestimate this, because the power of music is mighty. Music cuts straight through your reason and mind...and taps right into your spirit..has unlimited access to your emotion. Many believe your emotion is your spirit. Your personality is your soul. Your mind is your reasoning and thinking ability. Music is bombed at us on a daily basis. Have you ever stopped to really listen to what the music is saying?? Why is so much music now urging and directing us ? Why is it always about certain things? Why is God never allowed on a commercial radio station??? Maybe I should investigate another station!!!

I think this would be an excellent thread. The power of music, what it teaches and how it can be used as a tool of control and even total programming.
