A new AMAZING video posted on Youtube helping us comprehend how big the universe is

It makes me laugh when people say that we are the only life in the universe when they don’t even know how big the actual universe is

I wanted to post this to start a discussion about other intelligent life in the universe to see other peoples view on the subject, do you think its a 100% chance that there is other intelligent life out there or do you think the percent is allot smaller, let me know your opinion,

You will be hard pressed to find anyone who says other life doesn't exist in the universe...even though there is no "actual" evidence the maths is staggeringly in favor of it(doesn't mean aliens are visiting us though). And yes the universe is very,very big and we only see a fraction of it. To think there are new universes popping in and out of existence all the time aswell and that we are attached to them with some sort of umbilical cord...floating about in whatever it is universes float about in..our little ape brains can't fathom something of such magnitude.

we really dont know how big it is, or what shape it is, or if it even has a boundary, perhaps the universe simply "is".

but at lease we know how small it is not

hopefully once we figure out how to teleport we won't have to worry about traveling at the speed of light. Not like we can now, but seriously if we ever want to explore the universe we need to be able to teleport or use or a stargate or something. Peace.

There are only theories. The youtube is titled "How big is the Universe" but then at the end states "there are no words to describe how big the universe is". The truth is that there may not be an end (as we understand it) to the universe. I believe we do not possess the perception necessary to comprehend such things... yet. We are like microbes on the back of an insect clinging to a piece of driftwood floating in the ocean.

Quantum entanglement allows for teleportation i think. But i don't think that applies to things in the macro scale..we could send information this way though.

You think right. And you're also right about the application. Only a quantum state, or "information was transpoted for 1 meter by a Cal Tech team in 1998. No mass was transported.

i agree,

here is the tricky thing, if we can transfer information from a to b without interacting with a medium between the two, then technically we can do the same with mass.

it gets tricky because (as far as i know) we should be able to "map" say... a ball bearing, and reconstruct it at another location via information. does the ball bearing itself transport? and is it the exact same one? if ball bearings (let alone humans) had a conciousness and memory, would it understand that it had teleported? or would the concious cease to exist at one end, and a clone conciousness remain on the other side.

that is to say, if i was teleported, would i remember the experience going in? we could assume that the resulting ball bearing at the end would have the same memories as me, and would be able to interact the same that i would, but, in my case, would i step into a transporter and know what happens on the other side...

entanglement allows for things at great distances to cause changes simoultaneously with each other. it has to be one of the most fascinating things to me in all of science.
