DNA Exonerates Inmate After 35 Years

This item illustrates one of my major concerns about the death penalty...moral issues aside, how many innocents are actually convicted. This issue is coming up more and more in Canada, as old cases are re-examined using current forensic tools.
This case...not death row, but might have been...comes out of Florida.

DNA Exonerates Inmate After Serving 35 Years for Kidnapping, Rape
James Bain used a cell phone for the first time Thursday, calling his elderly mother to tell her he had been freed after 35 years behind bars for a crime he did not commit.

Mobile devices didn't exist in 1974, the year he was sentenced to life in prison for kidnapping a 9-year-old boy and raping him in a nearby field.

Neither did the sophisticated DNA testing that officials more recently used to determine he could not have been the rapist. www.foxnews.com...

Nowadays, its not such a laughable joke for an inmate to say: "I dont belong in prison. Im INNOCENT!"

This sheds light on a serious problem with the JUDICIAL process: its often stacked against an Innocent man/woman. Your 4th, 5th, 6th and 14th are absurdly trashed both before and during TRIAL. Prosecutors routinely LIE and MANUFACTURE evidence just to fatten up their Conviction Records. This is why so many states are swamped with APPEALS. Due Process has not been given at the local level to begin with.

Yes, id hazard a guess, and say MOST of the CRIMINALS are where they belong. However, there is simply no excuse for NOT giving a person a True, FAIR trial per the 14th amendment.
