In response to President Barack Obama's announcement on December 1 to deploy 30,000 additional troops to the occupation of Afghanistan, the organization March Forward!, comprising both veterans and active-duty members of the US military, has called on all soldiers to refuse their orders to deploy.

"March Forward! calls on all service members to refuse orders to deploy to Afghanistan and Iraq," reads a press release from the group from December 3. "We offer our unconditional support and solidarity. Join us in the fight to ensure that no more soldiers or civilians lose their lives in these criminal wars."

Very interesting. I just have a question though...

"We offer our unconditional support and solidarity. Join us in the fight to ensure that no more soldiers or civilians lose their lives in these criminal wars."

Can they offer immunity from prosecution and court marshall?

I'd like to see them try to imprison 30,000 troops. See what happens if they do that.. It won't be pretty.

Why would I have a guilty conscience? Strange question.
I was talking about the group... March Forward... because if they are going to offer "unconditional support and solidarity" then I want to know what that means. If that support entails legal support, than maybe there's something to the organization and their efforts. If it's just rhetoric, than it's something else entirely.

Maybe the veterans read this and the previous thread. If you are a veteran know I offered to donate most the money from the promised book to the wounded warrior fund so these soldiers would be appreciated not used and thrown away like me. I care! I would save the wounded warriors from Iraq and Afghanistan BUT our politicians make sure that does not happen.. Ron Wyden.. I Hoped and prayed for another solution but .... I want the world to be full of heroes even Ron Wyden I would love to be a Hero, but heroes defend Americans not just make the money and leave them sick to die like the naval intelligence does.

I really don't see this happening.

If you breach your enlistment contract in any way, they can take back any and all benefits you may have received whether that be a bonus, or school benefits. Try repaying $100,000 in school money you've received, we'll see who refuses to deploy then.

Wait... wasn';t it just a few weeks ago that Obama was being bashed becuase he WASN'T sending more troops fast enough? Wasn't the conservative-right and their media puppets lambasting Obama for 'dithering' while he assessed the situation? Weren't verterans calling him out for not standing behind the troops? And now this????
