Hey ATS,

I've been thinking of doing an experiment called the Ganzfled Experiment.

Basically, it involves cutting off the brains outside signals such as sight and hearing, which causes the "performer" to create there own signals and hallucinate.

And the great thing is, it can be done with as a little as a ping pong ball and an ipod.

I need to cut the ping pong ball in half, place each half over my ears and listen to some white noise (or pink noise; i prefer pink noise) that i could download off the internet/youtube somewhere.
A red light must be shined over the ping pong balls around your eyes, but i am not entirely sure on the reason for this.

Apparently, there has been records of miners in caves having hallucinations when they have been trapped for days on end, and this is the reason.

I sort of see this as a gate into your minds eye, as it will be your subconsciousness making theses hallucinations; "you" will have nothing to do with it.

So has anyone else tried one of these experiments and has some results they'd like to share?
Or any improvements for that matter?

Jacob

Sounds interesting, let us know how you get on.

I know that sensory deprevation tanks can have a simular effect,

When this type of experience gets ' Neat', is when one no longer needs the 'helpers'... (like those i-pods or ping-pong balls)

one just tunes in to ones heartbeat, or breath, or internal buzzing ...
When one no longer requires those plant or shroom helpers either ...

in the experiment you suggest, i think one is just 'Quieting' themselves,
so one can explore the brain's neural network which is at least as big as the Galaxy itself.

thanks for the reminder,

True mastery of the human body. This is just a step forward towards that! We'll all be there one day.
