The current leader of Papadopoulos’s centre-right DIKO party, Marios Garoyan, condemned what he called a “heinous and terrible crime.”

Andros Kyprianou, head of the communist AKEL party that leads the Mediterranean island’s government, expressed outrage at the crime, which came the day before a memorial service had to be held to mark the first anniversary of Papadopoulos’s death.

“I don’t know what kind of people would create such a terrible crime and steal a corpse,” he said. “There’s nothing for me to say.” There was no immediate comment from Papadopoulos’s family.

How low can you go !

That's pretty weird, I wonder if they are going to try and ransom the body back?

Some people in this world.

College prank or political statement?
And why steal a corpse? Burke and Hare were so last century.
You don't need it for medical research do they?

Dead Presidents Society

Alas, anyone who has lived near a college is probably no stranger to shenanigans of this sort.

My guess: it's the work of a decidedly old school Greek letter fraternity.

Either way, even if its someone who 'disagreed' with his political views, it just goes to show that these people DO NOT have any repsect for the departed.
Shame on them.
The most they should do is maybe urinate on their grave , not steal their remains.
Bad form old chap.

I wouldn't be searching Cyprus.

I'd be searching Turkey.

Sorry to dig this thread out, but I got some news about this. I am from Cyprus by the way.

FBI agents, hired by our government, have arrived to the island to investigate about this case. They were given full rights to question anyone they like.

I am a citizen of Cyprus and I consider this insulting. Nobody asked us if we are ok with foreign agents having legal rights over the citizens. This is absurd. What's your opinion on this?
