Hi

I'm wondering if there is a simple + easy way to see spirits around you as I have been very paranoid for about 2 weeks now and it's been affecting my sleep to the point where I've had to stay up until it was light outside before I could go to bed. Because of this, when I have been tired enough to go to bed early, until I fall asleep I'm constantly fearful whilst lying in bed. Usually it's relief when I'm dreaming and I wake up and it's like 7am, but last night I had a dream that I was in bed and trying to get to sleep. Basically in my dream it was exactly like what I do before I actually fall asleep, except I was lying in a more defensive position with my back right up against a wall.

Don't you think that if there was some way to see spirits that the subject of 'Ghosts' would be a little more cut and dried than it is?

No I don't care but this is a paranormal studies forum and the word 'seeing' is interchangeable.

Oh, so you DON'T care about critical thinking. Nice to know.

Also, the word 'seeing' is interchangeable with.. what?

From what you've said here, your reactions and feelings are all "internal", (feelings, dreams, anxieties, etc), and nothing "external" has happened to support your feelings. At this point they are only feelings, yes?

Sometimes when one is under a great deal of stress anxiety levels can rise causing all sorts of odd things to be perceived. Try to explore what's going on with you internally. If you can't get a handle on it and get your anxieties under control, then look for something external.

Try to do some relaxation exercises, and get some friends or family over (some calm ones) to determine if they too, get strange feelings, or if it is just you.

I'm not saying there is nothing going on, just that it's wise to rule out other possibilities before turning to paranormal explanations.

Didn't ask for you to come in here and start random arguments so I'm not gonna reply to your question ok.

@ladyinwaiting; Thanks for trying to help and reassure me, I'll do what you said
.

He wasn't starting an argument, merely pointing out how flawed your reasoning is. If you don't fix your reasoning, you'll never know if you see anything, as you simply won't have the credibility with yourself or others to give people cause to believe you. You'll be engaging in a pointless exercise, even for yourself.

Rational thinking is hard, and it will remove things from this world that you might be fond of (such as the idea of ghosts). It will, though, replace those things with such wonder, such demonstrable wonder, that you would never miss such trivial things.

Ok first of all, I had reasons that made me think there might've been spirits - which I didn't write down. Secondly, I didn't want to see spirits for any other reason than to find out what was causing my paranoia. Replace seeing with sensing or whatever.

And I thought he was starting an argument because this is the internet and because he just seemed like it to me.

Although I'm not a huge fan of the various ghost hunter type shows on TV, one thing they continually return to is high EMF readings in certain areas causing paranoia, feelings of being watched, dizziness, and various other symptoms. They call them 'fear cages'. You could start there, just to make sure.

As for an 'easy way' to see spirit. No. Sorry. Unless you are in tune with that sensitive side of your psyche (we all have the ability, we just choose not to use it). There does seem to be a required sympathetic vibration to 'see' spirit. Even if you were psychic as heck, you not going to see any spirit that doesn't want to be seen.

One HUGE thing to remember is that you should not be afraid of the dead. They no longer threaten you. They can't/won't hurt you. It's the living you need to worry about!!!

If you feel that you have spirit close by, who may be attempting to contact you ask that they deliver their message to you whilst you sleep. You're less likely to be anxious when you're asleep. Do calm down, though.

Do you really think that they mean you harm? No? Well, stop being frightened. If you stop being frightened they will come to you.

Another idea would be to contact your local spiritualist society. They are predominantly non-religious/non-denominational, and will listen to you without judging. They may even have some insight for you.

Rational thinking by people who have experienced paranormal phenomena would dictate that not only is it possible ghosts exist, it is also very probable.

Believe whatever you want, but don't say it like you KNOW they don't exist because you don't. Enough said.

Run a fan throughout the night. It would help calm your anxiety down. Sometimes even just the silence freaks me out sometimes, because you are anticipating, that something is gonna creep up and nab you. Or before you go to bed, watch and focus on something that is funny on T.V.

I don't know how to make you see what may be around you, but I know how you can make it go away and not bother you.

sleep with nail clipper or small metal scissors under your pillow, stick it under the mattress and box spring if you toss alot and think you might hurt yourself. Are you religious, use a cross or other religious symbol

put salt in all four corners of your room, burn incense such as sage, clean your room or surroundings do not give whatever it is that may be watching you at night any places to hide or lurk.

and sleep with your lights on instead of waiting till daylight.

It's probably just your nerves playing tricks on you. Whatever you do, don't watch any "scary" movies as they'll only put you over the edge.

Make sure your doors and windows are locked tight in case you're sensing a real person stalking/watching you rather than a spirit.

I like the previous post of sleeping with the lights on...that should help. Also, some type of "white noise" like a fan or the radio played on a low volume but not on a station so you can hear the static (radio static is truly more like white noise).

If you are religious, buy yourself a few angel statues and place them about your home.

Good luck!

Ha it's funny you say use a fan as I have been
.

Thanks for the helpful suggestions, I'd try sleeping with the light on but I know that won't work as I wouldn't be able to sleep unless I was exhausted (hence why I waited till dawn).

Thanks again.
