You say you want a revolution
Well you know
We all want to change the world

No doubt. One way to do this would be to find a way to keep extremists out of government…

The US government has declared that greenhouse gases threaten human health. The move could allow the US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) to order cuts in emissions without the approval of Congress. EPA administrator Lisa Jackson said the agency was now "authorised and obligated to make reasonable efforts" to cut greenhouse gases. The news came as global climate talks got under way in Copenhagen aimed at forging a deal on major emissions cuts. [Source: BBC]

The US Congress was created to insure balance against extremism and knee-jerk government policies that would, in essence, relegate the electorate to a victim-hood of totalitarianism. Efforts by many past administrations and agencies have sought to side-step these processes, usually through either subterfuge or outright bullying.

You say you got a real solution
Well you know
We'd all love to see the plan

In this case, the plan is to empower the EPA to act upon a singular view of the question of global warming. Further, it has no intention of listening to anyone who disagrees nor does it have any interest in debate…

Jackson said she saw no reason to delay today's announcement, despite questions raised about the actions of some climate scientists in the wake of the unauthorized release of thousands of emails from a British climate research center.

"There is nothing in the hacked emails that undermines the science upon which this decision is based," she said, adding that the scientists and data released from the University of East Anglia's climate research center was just one of many sources of scientific evidence, all concluding in finding a human climate impact. Ms. Jackson’s mind is clearly already made up.

But… what about the costs? Not just in dollars and cents, though that is another worthy subject. But how about for a world economy now hanging from a thread and those who already now have to pay what is sometimes a quarter or a third of their monthly income for light and heating?

Almost all energy and energy intense industries hope that Congress will step in with new climate laws, namely through a cap-and-trade system that limits greenhouse gas emissions, but allows companies to buy or sell emissions credits.

If not, companies say, jobs will be lost, an economic recovery will be hamstrung and everyone will pay more for energy. [Source: LA Times]

So, even if OPEC doesn’t succeed in breaking the economies of the western democracies, the Green House Gang may by destroying it from within?

You say you'll change the constitution
Well you know
We all want to change your head
**

It this point, it looks as though the US Constitution may be no match for those who plan to openly usurp it in the name of sending the world into a new dark age, literally, where the cost of an hour of electricity will quickly outpace what the wage earner can afford with a week’s salary... even if there are any jobs left to be had.

You really want a revolution? This may be one way to get it.
