Because he was starting a debate, not asking a question. He never clearly stated the question, that's why Alex said to him "keep going", but the exact question was never formulated, and yeah, what are you supposed to answer if your statement is pretty much general and can go either way?

Though I think it would be interesting to Alex's perspective on it, the guy asking the "question" should have formulated things differently.

I agree that he could have gone about it a different way. Although watching it several times It makes me believe that we're looking in the wrong direction. The people that are feeding us this are selling books. I am working on a thread to connect the pieces. I am not trying to harm any one, I'm just tired of the nonsense.
