You are a brave and valiant individual. Any parent would be proud and honored to have you as their child. Be safe in the Middle East, and may many many more good times lay ahead for you with friends and family. My heart is with you.

How is going to Iraq to kill other people not selfish? Can you be more specific about what changes did you make to become so selfless that violence in the name of self interest (or family) becomes called selflessness?

It does not make any sense what you are saying. Sorry mate.

Wow.
Let me tell you something. I hate, and I mean HATE people like you. People who throw their opinions and input everywhere, whether appropriate or not. Stop-loss tells us how he helped his parents by using his savings and has to go back to Iraq. His parents were on the verge of losing their home, and he helped them using his savings, that's the change he made, and that's not selfless?

Your shortening of the equation is unnecessary and very intimidating.
"The soldier is ordered by the government to invade the other country, therefore killing other people" and you shortened it to
"the soldier goes to the other country to kill other people"
Why are you questioning his action? What right do you have? Have you done any selfless act comparable to his?
The war in Iraq has been going on for a very long time and as I'm aware, and people already made up their minds about it, so bringing your point of view on the war in such a irrelevant thread is completely useless.
My point is, when somebody on this thread wants your effing opinion on the Iraq war, and I doubt anybody is that lousy, they will ask for it.

Oh and Stop-loss, you are a great soldier with a big heart, and even a better son.

Good deeds have a way of coming back to you my friend. As far as the money you spent, that is replaceable.

While I don't necessarily agree with the war that is going on, I do admire your courage to do what you think is right.
