Over 500 people in several villages of Shampur area in Howrah district were affected by an unknown fever for the past four days, official sources said today.
Though none of the affected persons died or were hospitalised, their blood samples were sent to the National Institute of Communicable Diseases (NICD) in Kolkata to ascertain the nature of the disease, the sources said. (PTI)
