Some interesting finds on "doppelganger" :

Meaning "double walker" a doppelganger is a shadow-self that accompanies every human. Only the owner of a doppelganger can see it, otherwise it is invisible to human eyes. Dogs and cats have been known to see doppelgangers. Providing sympathetic company, a doppelganger almost always stands behind a person, and they cast no reflection in a mirror. They are prepared to listen and give advice to humans, either implanting ideas in their heads, or a sort of osmosis. It is said to be bad luck if it is seen, and rarely a doppelganger will make itself visible to friends or family, often causing great confusion. Doppelgangers can be mischievous and malicious.

From here

This term come from the German expression meaning "double walker," the human double, or the astral body. The doppelganger may be projected in an out of body experience (OBE), or appear as another person in an apparition. A.G.H.
From "Dictionary of Mysticism and the Occult" - Nevil Drury

Both of these definitions seem to point in the same direction many posts in this thread have been suggesting. The 'astral body', or 'astral plane' is thought to be the 4th dimension.
Also interesting is the part "It is said to be bad luck if it is seen"

Atom by atom it is certainly possible for each of your particles to have an anti particle somewere though not nessasarily. It is extreemly unlikely that those particles/atoms etc.. have lined themselves up in such a way as to form an anti you in this or any other universe or dimension. Is there an anti particle for the last particle on the end of your finger? Maybe. Is there an anti you? Extreemly unlikely though not theoretically impossible.

That's nonsense. First of all, the astral body is you, and it's not someone or something else than you. The only way you can see it is when you are out of body, or partially out of body and look at your hands, feet and the rest of your body as if you're looking at your physical body. I saw my astral arms once, when I was partially out. What you can do though, is see your physical body while you are out of body. I've seen mine lying in the bed once.

Did I ever say it wasn't 'you'? No. The point I was trying to make was that versions of ourselves in other dimensions are still us. For example, is the version of someone in any of the first three dimensions (width, height & depth) a 'different' person? Not at all. Are they different than the version of us in the dimension of Time?

You speak of the universe symetry theory.

That from an empty universe came the big bang and EVERYTHING has its mirror.

The theory is that everything that eixist has its EXACT opposite, right now there is an anti-earth with all the events going on here happening at the same time.

The exact time you set out to travel there your twin heads in the opposite direction at you meet inbetween and anihilate if you get too close.

This is entirely possible but there is no evidence for it. It was just a concept tossed around when symetry started showing up in partcle physics.

A few notes, if this is true there is NO free will and everything we do is based on the laws of physics even in our heads.

ALso for those going on about no anti-matter in out universe...last I checked every single thing we measure from the stars would be identicle if the bodies were matter OR anti-matter.

While it is thought the universe is mostly matter, I wasn't aware of evidence otherwise.

Amatine? When did we discredit that half the universe isn't antimatter with minor anihilation inbetween galaxies?

Dunno, but I have definitely met my bang and ended up with myself.

Sorry, I'm new. (and giddy)

I doubt it, but that's a whole other thread...

I thought I said there was only matter in the known universe. But because matter and antimatter should have formed in identical amounts, there must be some difference between the two to allow a matter universe.

One of the theories is that a CP-violation, like in kaons, has caused this.

I know this is a noobie question, but what the hell is anti-matter?!

I know its like the opposite of matter(but how is it the oposite of matter?!; theres alot of ways u no!)
Are the anti particles built up of anti-quarks? or are they built up of different configs of quarks. Or are they fundamental? Is it anti energy or still the same energy.
And what damn property of all this oppositeness makes them annihilate each other and give off gamma rays?!

sorry. please enlighten me.
