Taser gun used on 10-year-old girl who 'refused to take shower'

This story is just crazy. What kind of person calls the police because their child won't take a shower, and what kind of officer uses a taser on a ten year old unarmed child ?!

Maybe the woman needs to take some parenting classes and learn how to be a parent. Why the need to call the cops, simply give her a good whack across her butt, or pick her up off the floor and put her little butt in the shower. If your parenting skills are so lousy that you can't get your ten year old in the shower, then you're the one that needs some serious help, and not from the cops.

As far as that cop goes anyone that can't subdue an unarmed ten year old girl without using a weapon has no business being a police officer ! He shouldn't have even stayed in that house when he saw what the situation was, it's not his job to make sure a child takes a shower, what law was she breaking? If she was breaking no law, then he had no reason to be there, nor any reason to intervine. And from his statement it seems as though the police chief doesn't have any busniness being the chief of police.

Well I agree that the whole situation is crazy beyond belief, the mother and police combined - but how is this anything to do with "political correctness"?! Seriously, that term is so misunderstood and used irresponsibly - mostly by those on the far right who have corrupted the term in a similar way to how a "terrorist" now implies "Islamic fundamentalist".

How about the father though, sounds like as usual the courts rule in favour of the mother yet by his words and actions, he seems like the better parent.

Maybe i used the term " Politically correct" a little loosely, but the message i was trying to portray was that the cops that are at the centre of the corruption and violence tend to walk away free from the courts even if they have been caught "Red handed" by CCTV or several eye witnesses with cams.

The code of silence amongst these violent criminals (COPS) not all but some, is evident and at the core of corruption within the system.

I love this. He was suspended because he didn't have the video running.

The Mayor is also quoted as having said that the FBI should investigate. His own cops. He probably doesn't have the authority to punish the cop who did the deed for doing the deed so this was the best that he could do. I admit that 7 days suspension with pay does sound like a vacation, but at least it goes on your record.

In my day, if a cop had done that, no one in town would ever have shaken his hand again.

We cannot chalk it all up to the government if some of us are smart enough to realize the difference. Therefore, they do not go hand-in-hand. Peoples' laziness and stupidity are the root. The government and corporations do take advantage of this, but it can be -prevented-.

As well, it is not just an assumption that the woman does not have a good relationship with her daughter. The evidence is before you. The whole point of me pointing out the fact that she had no good relationship with her daughter is because I recognize that most people wouldn't know the difference. It's a lesson for the world, if you will, where I explain the lesson so someone somewhere might think about it.

If whatever you do is okay as a parent, or that is just simply what parenting is, then what about being a parent did this particular lady miss?

Sorry to say, but the human being is not nearly as complex as people think. The more specific the results you desire from your child, the more specific your actions must be and the less options you have.

But, I really think the importance here is not the method of disciplining. I think it's the fact that the woman had NO relationship with her daughter. I can guarantee, if the article is true, that the evidence exists that the woman is selfish, needy, and overbearing. Now, a lot of people can be "good" people and get away with this characteristics, but when it comes to dealing with a 10 year old daughter (another selfish, needy, and overbearing person) all by yourself, you should probably not be selfish, needy, or overbearing. You should be strong, forceful, and yet calm and humble. It's amazing how simply standing your ground will change a kid. Once again, I refer to a previous poster who walked out with her two kids because she got stuff to do, and then...voila! Kid is all ready to go, sorry momma!

Start being good people. Start being good parents. Start being friends with people. I don't mean the kind of friends that drink and hang out or party or throw tupperware parties. I don't mean the kind of friends that have business dealings or gossip about eachothers' families or neighbors or others' kids. I don't mean the kind of friends that say they're friends, but really, it's just a big political competition. Too many politics are involved in everything these days. Too much fakeness. A 10 year old gets pretty insane when they come to the realization. I wonder if mommy was a faker?

Wow, it is stories like this that remind me of the Heroes that our paramilitary groups are.

After her initiating close-quarters combat, the officer had every reason to suspect that she might open up with a machine gun, possibly even make use of an incendiary device, maybe.

Then after dispatching him and snorting more sugar, she would maybe have set up an enfilade firing position and picked the remaining officers off as they arrived. It would have been a bloodbath, making the recent Fort Hood Catastrophe of Heroes look like a five pin bowling game when compared to a ten-pin version. That is the sort of horror that could have potentially been prevented (...in theory and had certain factors been only slightly different, maybe).

Luckily, this HERO acted quickly and used his electro-torture device to subdue the micro-terrorist and prevent the horrible things I just described.

We can still be like that. We don't have to accept this behavior. I like the idea of ostracizing abhorrent people myself. This action seems to stem from a person with no conscience or very little regard for the safety of those around him.

I'm appalled by the actions of the mother in this case, I don't understand it in anyway. Tasers are dangerous, they can kill people.

What kind of police man actually responds to a call like that?!! He should have told her to snipoff and stop bothering the police with BS. But again, this smacks of what is going to become commonplace ... Neighbors snitching on each other, parents on children, children on parents and the cops are going to end up in our homes for the pettiest of complaints simply because parents and people in general are to useless to deal with their own issues ... oh I forgot, that's what the PTB want isn't it?!
