Water on the moon - Its Official

Apologies if some people have already posted this.

The BBC has just reported that NASA has found water on the moon.

Not just small amounts - One researcher described this as the equivalent of "a dozen two-gallon buckets" of water.

Does this point to the moon origin coming from the Earth i.e the water is from Earth? I haven't seen any good theories to explain why such a high percentage of the moon is hidden from the Earth most of the time. This could only be modelled if you swung a ball on the end of a piece of string - the ball would always face inwards i.e. there was a connection between the earth and the moon although the scientist believe there isn't.

Also if the moon did originate from the Earth and the water is from here, could the moon have taken bacteria/microbes with it. We now know of thermophiles that can survve high pressure and other bacteria living off sulphur. The more we investigate the more we find bacteria in places we would not expect.
