PORTLAND, Ore. -- A shooting has been reported in Tualatin.

Police would not confirm many details except to say there had been a shooting near the intersection of SW Mohawk and Martinezi.

Tualatin Valley Fire & Rescue said as many as 10 people were possibly being transported to local hospitals.

There were no confirmed deaths.

The address police discussed was that of a strip mall.

Here we go again....I did not see this when I searched.......wonder if it is a copycat or part of some larger plot. Time will tell, hopefully it is unrelated to anything terror wise. I sure hope we do not start to see this every few days now especially after the news a bit back about plans by terror groups to start hitting other targets such as schools and such.

past post always said, when things start getting rough people would start getting crazy, sign of the times...
sad and wrong, but when people are down and out, there true nature comes out.
The sad part is the famlies effected by the actions of one.

One person feels there is no way out, one person feels they are right, and hundreds pay, hundreds have their life changed instantly because of their decsion.
makes you question life its self, what is the basis, at the root of it all what are we?
Everyone lives the life and thinks.. 'man they are messed up' but when push comes to shove, who would break down, and who would stay above?
Old quote i live by....and hope that others live by, but am constantly proven wrong..
'to thine own self be true' W.S.

Well we had Ft Hood, Orlando, the shooting this morning in South Carolina (3 dead / 8 injured), the hostage situations in NY & MO, and now this shooting in OR! Seriously, did someone flip a switch? Is the media just now paying attention to these acts nation wide? Did the Hellmouth open on 10/26 and it's now just spilling over?

Maybe the first shots where fired? I'm tired of killings, why can't we respect our fellow humans?

Is this going to be a civil war?

No, the Portland area is a notorious high crime area, the Orlando shootings and SC shootings, Ft. Hood and many more, some in the news and some conveniently not, are all non-related random acts of violence... don't you know?

There will be war soon enough, no need to rush it.

Mistakes are plentiful and beneficial.

Controlling the information that is reported is the highest priority... Let your guard down and simply believe... It is better that way.

Yes, very astute. Someone appears to have flipped a switch. Isn't there some kind of device that sends sonic waves that are heard as words in the human brain?

As a "sensitive", and as a sensitive rendering an opinion, I do definately feel that a switch has been thrown in some way. Mechanism unclear.

SW Portland is full of crazy meth addicts. I bet that had something to do with it. Although When I was there I remember Tualitin or at least part of it being on the affluent side. This is terrible. Remember last year when people were getting decapitated all over the world in like a three week span? These clusters of unusual violent crimes are raising a red flag for me. SOMETHING is fishy here.

Gerald Celente predicted this. He said that when people who have little to lose, lose everything, then they lose it. To paraphrase.

There is also a "frustration- agression" hypothesis that says that people who are pushed too far may act out in violence.

In more modern times it could be described as "quiet riot" behavior.

First: Portland does not have a notoriously high crime rate, it is quite safe for a city of its size. Violent crime ratings are near lowest in the country.

Here are the safest cities according to Forbes:
1. Minneapolis
2. Milwaukee
3. Portland
4. Seattle (tie)
4. Boston (tie)

Second: this took place at a Legacy (hospital) drug and alcohol clinic and the shooter fatally shot himself. Not likely a meth-related or other drug related attack or robbery attempt, but perhaps related to drugs in some other way... or, perhaps it was personal...

According to the cop on scene, the gunman and the victim that died (a woman who worked in the clinic) knew each other, though their relationship was not specified.

Third: Tualatin is in the suburbs about 25 miles from Portland and this incident took place in a business-park-plaza type area, not a neighborhood.

I think it's a stretch to relate this incident to a "bigger picture"

ETA: my thoughts with the victims and their families...

I was going to say the same thing, perfect summary. This is not in a bad area at all and was just something that happened and not a sign of the times or a bad area.

It was a crazy day though, we had a fire at a local Portland school and then the shooting.
