It depends on your beliefs--please don't make this into another argument for or against evolution, we have enough of those.
As I'm basically a creationist, I think we're devolving, getting more and more repeats in the genes as we, as a race, age, and it's making our full potential harder to reach...At the same time, we have a soul, something I believe is not fully subjected to our mortal bodies, but our mortal bodies are subjected to it, therefor, the DNA matters less--the way you have those with genetic defects who are geniuses--hey, that happens. So what we have is a limmiting factor, the DNA, and something that is not always (maybe even never)...so I think that it's irelevant, for this argument, as to whether we evolved or devolved...

everything is always changing it all depends on your personal choices that determines if it moves forward or back.
you will move forward in your own time even though you think it might take forever.

from a strictly genetic point, more people = more different genes (as every living individual is unique in genetic makeups). Evolving or devolving... well, can't really comment on that until we find out where it is our destination is.

Thats ok, I am always in a state of confusion

I'm not sure I understand the question correctly. Are you asking if psychic skills are actually evolving through time. Like 2000 years ago we wouldnt be as psychic as we can be now?

If you look back in time psychic gifts seems to be about the same in ancient times as they are today. A rare gift that does not necessarily imply a lack of faculties in any other area, just the addition of certain abilities that others do not have. Do to its nature of being something of a bonus over your basic senses, I think it probably would be classified as more of as evolving than devolving. It appears to be something that is possible for everyone but with the use of an area of the brain that is not naturally active in most people.
I think quite possibly someday we may figure out how to turn that switch on so to speak with modern medical breakthroughs but for now it is up to mother nature.

It varies from person to person. They did a test back in the '70s on some of the "supergeniuses" out there, and many of them had more than half of their brain damnaged (to the point of those parts being labeled dead). Another thing to look at is the way that individuals use their brains....there is a marked diffrence in the way most women use their brains compared to most guys....guys generally have high use in concentrated areas, while females use somewhere areound the same ammount of activity, but spread over more area.
Also, as things become automated, i.e. you make it into a motor skill, you use less and less brain to do the same function than as you started out using. It's why it took you forever to figure out your times tables when you were young, but now they tend to come immediately...or how much thought it takes you to type on a computer....

Back in my day we used proper spelling so maybe you might want to take a look at your threads title?

Sorry Atmoix, but seriously dude / dudette, what the hell? Who care if the poster missed a space? Don't know about you but I could still understand it ok, and isn't that all that matters in the end? ALot of people like me probably post messages late at night when they are tired and prone to spelling mistakes, missed keys etc.

Hmmm on this matter, I guess the whole idea of people becoming more physic is something could be true, however if this was true, it is something that has probally been reawakened than newly acquired, since for many years people have been able to have had certain phycic experiences or abilities....

I used to have a few skills but since I haven't been using them I've pretty lost it.

For example ? I believe we all have the most basic of phycic abilities available to us, but others have to be worked at.
