Beluga Whale Saves Diver From Icy Water

Just for once i thought i would post something here that is positive, nice, and offers a little hope

Free diving competitors in China were using a 20ft deep Beluga Whale tank to perform their sport. Little did they realise the benefits of sharing the tank with these beautiful and intelligent creatures.

When Yang Yun suffered cramps in her legs (due to the freezing temperatures) one of the Beluga Whales (Mila) was the first to notice that she was in trouble... Mila immediately swam towards the diver and gently grasped her leg and swam for the surface.

"We suddenly saw the girl being pushed to the top of the pool with her leg in Mila's mouth. She's a sensitive animal who works closely with humans and I think this girl owes her her life."

How sad that we choose to treat these creatures, who are clearly self aware and have empathy towards other creatures, the way that we do.

On a positive note though... what a lovely story... wow i'm a big softy at heart
