Why does the foreign economy doesn't change, no matter which party is in power?

Why do we keep sending more troops to die in a war that is based on Lies?

Why do we get involve in nation building in other countries when our own nation is nearing bankruptcy?

Personally I believe we should finish the wars we started. What I don't understand is why politicians always set things up to fail by saying stupid stuff like we are there to help them or to bring them Democracy. I always thought the purpose of war was to beat the crap out of them until they did what you wanted.
