Swine flu hits Michigan hard Detroit news
60,000 reported ill last week; 16 deaths so far

Michigan is being hit by the worst flu season in years, with the H1N1 virus sickening tens of thousands of residents, sending hundreds to the hospital, closing nearly 600 schools and killing 16 people -- including five people in Metro Detroit, state officials announced Monday.

"We are at numbers you might see at the peak of a bad flu season," said Gregory S. Holzman, state chief medical executive. "This is unprecedented."

The number of flu-like illnesses reported to the Michigan Disease Surveillance System for 2009 was 418,191 as of last week. The number has surpassed the 416,972 cases reported last year, when the number spiked sharply after the seasonal flu vaccine didn't match the strain of the virus affecting the public. In 2007, Michigan reported 404,476 cases.

Detroit is also has one of the highest poverty rates in the US due to the recent downfall of the US auto industry, which in turn breeds higher disease and mortality rates. Also, half of Michigan residents are said to be forgoing the swine flu vaccine .

Makes me wonder how much longer it will be before forced vaccinations are implemented across the entire nation.

getting the flu is a way to become immune to it. Not a fun way, but this one only lasts 4 or 5 days. So not the end of the world.

Well, this is sort of the point of the "evil" vaccinations people are going on about. During the largest previous vaccination effort, about 1 in 100,000 people came down with some symptom as a result of the vaccinations. And here, we have 16 out 60,000 DEAD as a result. Which is worse?

So while you should be wary of the vaccination, clearly it's a lower risk to take it, than to risk death as a result of this. At a minimum, it's clear that there was / is a point to their pressing for vaccinations, it's not just a money grabbing scheme or some evil plot to take over the world. They just knew this was a very virulent disease, and were trying to prepare us for it.

But figures... no matter how helpful and honest they are, they are screwed, they will be considered "evil" with some wicked agenda.

I think the main goal of the corporate world is to create an artificial demand for vaccines now, so when the masses really do need vaccines the medical industry will be beefed up enough to handle an actual pandemic crisis. It's a rather crooked way to raise industry funding, but in the current global economy of toxic debt, people and governments generally do not spend money on long term goals. Poor nations generally do not take on more debt for non-emergencies, or they could collapse their economy. Ukraine is a prime example of this, as they do not have a H1N1 vaccine program.

The conspiracy side of the coin, is they are just vaccinating people to weaken their immune systems and each subsequent new virus strain will eliminate more of the weakest and poorest, until the ideal population is reached (the slow grind). This also creates an immediate paranoid effect, that enriches the corporate world by stimulating hoarding, splurge/binge consumption, drug/alcohol abuse, criminal offenses, mental phobias, poorer general health, prescription medicine abuse, etc., which drives up pricing, raises tax revenues, raises debt slavery/usury index, increases wealth transfer, decreases the chance of a deflationary spiral, and consolidates power and control.

It's all a matter of perspective....
