Since you are not being very specific, I will give my quote, it's under my sig. It is not nice nor mean, nor is it a work of poetry or a deep
philosophical statement. It is simply a statement I always make to everyone I speak to because it is necessary that people are aware of this;
you are not your ideas. You are a human being, so as long as I do not insult you as a person you have no reason to get angry at me for
criticizing or questioning your beliefs.
Most people seem to be unable to separate themselves from their ideas. They relate to an idea. The problem this causes is that if an idea is
refuted or proven false, then the person attached to the idea will have his/her entire worldview crashed. In fact, they even seem to forget that
beliefs and ideas change constantly; one day you might not support the government, and another day several years later you might become a big
government supporter. You might think of homosexuals as "sinners" who deserve to go to hell, and the next day your belief system might change
completely and you'll become accepting of them.
so, there is my signature quote, which I wrote myself. If some obscure philosopher wrote the exact same thing let me know in advance to credit him/her
with the idea.
