UP to six bodies, many of them badly decomposed, were found in the Cleveland, Ohio home of a convicted rapist arrested overnight, police said.
Police chief Michael McGrath said there were "three bodies located" at the home of Anthony Sowell, 50, and the remains of three more victims were believed to have been discovered. Authorities were awaiting confirmation from the coroner.

Hopefully, the discovery can provide some closure for the families of the victims.

Another criminal slips through the cracks and kind of proves that the (in)justice system is flawed and is merely a mockery of what it tries to be.

One question about it though: If the police could smell the bodies from outside the house, then why didn't the neighbourns report anything or become suspicious?

What should be done with Anthony Sowell? I'm not in favour of state sanctioned death penalties. However, I could imagine how some of the victims' relatives might want to have a little chat with him.

im not sure how much you can really blame the justice system. they either lock rapists away forever (which most would consider cruel and excessive) or they let them out at some point because theyve served their time. double edged sword. its not perfect, but until something works better.....what can you do?

Update:

Cleveland police say they have found two more bodies, and a skull, at the home of a suspected serial killer. Toll now at 10.

There also may be one more as they have also found a skull wrapped in a cloth that could be an 11th victim,

lmao...wow...do you think law enforcement consists of some convoluted hollywood scheme like in Minority Report where Criminals can be caught before they commit a crime?

You can't blame law enforcement for not catching him before he killed someone. He wasn't a criminal until he killed.

The only way to accomplish the task that you chastise them of failing at is to hire more police and create more strenuous laws.

Then you'd be in here sniveling about a police state.
It's called law enforcement, not criminal prevention. Civil rights prevent criminal prevention.

This is what a lot of people with bleedy hearts gets you.

You can't have your cake and eat it too.

To be honest about it the Cleveland police department and the county sheriff are a complete and total joke. More often than not if your a victim of a crime they do little to nothing about it even when they have solid evidence. Then to make matters worse they will relentlessly pursue the honest law abiding citizens that did nothing more than defend their home or property. Giving you two choices either be a victim or become a criminal for defending whats yours.

Due to some close calls, I prefer to exercise my 2nd amendment rights, whenever I go to Cleveland. Having a CCW permit doesn't mean anything to
the local politicos. I have to worry about possibly being arrested. The link is to a group fighting Clevelands stubborn stance on CCW permits.

I am totally with you on that the best advice i can give you is if you can avoid it by all means do so because even with the castle defense law your pretty much up a creek without a paddle. and they will do their best to turn you into the criminal.

Did you read the article?

He was released from prison in 2005 for a rape in 1989.

The criminal (in)justice system has failed.

I'm not a sponsor of state sanctioned 'justice'. There's other ways to punish people that have nothing to do with law, order or the courts.

The other failure in this is that the neighbors complained about the stench and that the authorities that were checking up on him let it go uninvestigated. It stunk so badly that the one cheese factory thought it was them and redid their sewage lines and everything and it was still there. A little investigating something other than a box of donuts might have caught this, people died here due to Cleveland police inefficiency and laziness.

When are we going to get real and insist the government exterminate violent felons?

you're saying that rape should have been an obvious indicator for murder?

No, I'm not saying that at all. You didn't read the part where I don't really approve of state sanctioned punishment. I don't approve of governments.

Let's just agree that you and I think differently about things.

I live in a time when my ideas are not the majority and never will be. There are lots of ways to punish people, that have nothing to do with artificial state sanctioned systems.

The more that people look to the state to solve their problems, the more screwed we are.
