LONDON – Hundreds of people on any given day will die, develop the paralyzing Guillain-Barre syndrome or have spontaneous abortions, and that doesn't necessarily mean that their swine flu vaccination shot was to blame, a new study says.

As millions of people worldwide begin getting the new swine flu shot, public health officials are bracing for rumors about dangerous side effects linked to the vaccine.

To provide context, experts combed hospital databases and population samples in Britain, Canada, Finland, the United States and elsewhere to find daily baseline rates of commonly report

Only if the rates of these events exceed these baseline numbers should experts suspect the vaccine might be responsible.

"People die every day for lots of reasons, but we tend not to think about that when a mass immunization campaign is happening," said Steven Black of Cincinnati Children's Hospital in Ohio, one of the paper's authors. "We're not saying we don't need to look at vaccine safety, but let's do it judiciously."

Black, like several of the study's authors, received grants from companies that make swine flu vaccine.

Mass immunization campaigns for diseases like measles and yellow fever have frequently been undermined by rumors that the vaccines cause dangerous side effects.

Still, rumors may also mask legitimate vaccine concerns. In Nigeria, fears that the oral polio vaccine causes HIV were unfounded but concern about the vaccine was not entirely unwarranted: it does cause polio in rare instances.

I don't know about you but while that may be truth doesn't this sounds like a propaganda clip in case people actually start to get all of the above after getting the swine flu vaccine?

You know kind of government covering their butts even when the big pharma is exempt from any wrong doings, at least here in the US.

The immunization that alarms me the most is the one where neither Big Pharma, nor the WHO, nor the governments can be held liable for any bad things that happens to a person they inoculate.

Their immunity is much more telling about the reality of the situation than ours will be...

By the way..., why call them "side effects"? The definition should be changed now, to accommodate political expedience?

Where's the evidence so far to suggest these baseline numbers have being exceeded?

I'm unsure about the vaccine, and the 2 variants, and the exact reasons for the additive version even for those who will receive the vaccine first in the line. But I want to see solid evidence that this vaccine is harmful, as potential fearmongering may end up being more harmful.

This is my take, 1976 cost to the tax payer in the US 123 million in propaganda, flu vaccine, only 5 million paid out on families for the death and disable after the swine flu vaccinations.

This time around, 16 million on propaganda, no a penny for those that will be dying and become disable after the vaccine side effects.

History doesn't lie, and tends to repeat itself, so I will wait and see because this time is going to be a lot of angry people unable to sue the pharma and the government for their loses.

You raise a very important question.

I agree it should be evident, perhaps this is all benevolent in nature. But I keep returning to the preordained immunity from liability - I find that disturbing.

You see, billions of dollars in revenue will be funneled into a narrow economic channel, mostly engendered, encouraged, and even mandated by the same career political and diplomatic transnational and local hands that are making the argument. It gives me a reason to be circumspect about their message.

At any rate, if I refuse the blessing of this treatment from the government, in whatever guise, and I become sick, I will be the first to admit it.

While I am hoping for the best. I am inclined to be skeptical - these world leaders and authorities of ours (all of us, that is) don't have my unconditional confidence.

I'd like to see scientific proof that the vaccine works. I want to see safety trials done. I'd like to see conclusive scientific proof that every ingredient is not detrimental to health.

I believe the fda holds all homeopathy to the double blind standard, I should like to see this vaccine pass that same test.

My wife who didnt listen or believe me re; swine flu shot is bad, got one and then with in a day and a half was so violently ill that I had her taken to hospital.

She is ok again now but she was bad...and I said to her good stuff that shot hey.....and she still sticks up for it saying the 2 aren't related.

I have said to her I will not have it, and my daughter will have it over my dead body and I mean that I will not let her have it....
