This post is about a United States Government Accountability Office (USGAO) report to congressional requsters - "Address Potential Internet Congestion and Encourage Readiness" - essentially preparing to shut down the parts of the internet in case of a faux pandemic, which as we know is already in place.
"Although the vast majority of Internet infrastructure is owned and operated by the private sector, federal policy recognizes the need to be prepared for the possibility of debilitating disruptions in cyberspace."

I didn't post this under swine flu b/c I'm not caught up in the small details of the swine flu, and frankly don't care. I know it's unhealthy - the end. I am tired of all the ramble about it.Moderators, if you feel you need to move this, go for it. But this is NOT a swflu discussion or thread.
I certainly haven't had time to read the full 77 pages of this pdf... but it is interesting so far. What do you guys make of it? Does anyone really buy into "internet congestion" during a pandemic? come on! aren't we all on the internet all day as it is?
