Big snowstorm moving out of Colorado to Kan., Neb.

news.yahoo.com

DENVER – A large, powerful autumn snowstorm slowly moved out of Colorado Thursday and trudged toward Nebraska and Kansas, causing blizzard-like conditions on the eastern plains and leaving in its wake treacherous roads and hundreds of canceled flights.

The storm dropped more than 3 feet of snow in areas of the foothills west of Denver and closed schools and businesses. Roads across the region remained snowpacked and icy, shutting down the Mount Rushmore National Memorial in western South Dakota.

"Big storms like these, they seem to come around every 10 to 12 years," said Kyle Fredin,

More wild weather. Isn't this a little early? In the pictures it shows all the leaves on the trees coloured and orange, with snow on top of them.

I know this happens every 10-12 years, but it just seems to add on to the oddness of the weather lately. Just a warning, anyone on ats who lives in Kansas or Nebraska, it is coming your way.

Freakish weather here in AZ too. It was barely a couple weeks ago that we were still in the 100's, but yesterday and today we've barely gotten over 60, it's freezing balls in the morning. It was snowing a little bit north of Phoenix i believe. Usually we get a couple months of awesome weather before getting cold. Doesn't look like it's gonna last though, this weekend we'll be back in the 80's.

Lots of rain where I live too. It's not to often that the weather people are sure enough to say 100% chance of rain.

Here in Northern CO we got close to 2 feet. That was the most snowfall i've seen in my 3 years living here.

On a positive not I didn't have to work much in the past 2 days because of it
