DENVER – The mother of the 6-year-old boy once feared missing inside a runaway helium balloon admitted the whole saga was a hoax, according to court documents released Friday.

Mayumi Heene told sheriff's deputies that she and her husband Richard "knew all along that Falcon was hiding in the residence" in Fort Collins, according to an affidavit used to get a search warrant for the home.

She allegedly told investigators the incident was a hoax meant to make them more marketable to the media.

First i would like to congratulate with all members who stated this was a hoax way before this news was released, this al tleast will restore some convidence in here, after the well debunked UFO Spain Videos we have and end to this saga too.

We must take notes how hoaxes can be debunked for example in this case, in ATS it was pointed out that it was a bit fisht that this family took part previously in TV shows like Wife Swap which indicated their striving of gaining fame through television.

Still Im feeling little sorry for the family for this ending since now there are also a 6 yr in prison on the line but if you think about the fact that how many rescue and police unit who took part in the salvage operation who might have been saving someone else its no joke

Well it was about time after the kid clearly admitted that they did it for the show on national TV.

I thought it was a hoax when I was watching it unfold, but especially after seeing the crazy videos the family has put together....rap songs, kid shows, fake science shows....that father wants fame BAD!

I don't have a whole lot of sympathy for this family, and especially not the father. He was trying to gain notoriety. He succeeded beyond his expectations, though possibly not in the way he had hoped.

What he did was highly irresponsible and foolhardy. His story about his kid being in the balloon was intended to get attention of the media. That, it did. However, it also involved law enforcement officials in several states wasting their time looking for a kid who was hiding in the garage. People mobilized and went hunting for the balloon, and then for the child's body when the balloon was found to be empty. Now, I'm not sure what all these law enforcement officials were doing before this stupid prank, but I suspect they had better things to do than give some jerk the publicity he so desperately sought. Maybe they had some bad guys to chase or something. Just a thought...

This father wanted attention so that he could make money. However, he caused tens of thousands of dollars to be wasted in the unnecessary search for a child that was never in danger. In my opinion, he should pay for this wasted effort. I don't think he should necessarily be punished, but I do feel that any money he makes on this ought to be used to pay off the expenses of the search. If there's any excess, that should be donated to some charity, like one that tries to help kids or something. I certainly think that this man should not make a dime off this stupid stunt.

Then someone needs to talk to this guy's children and tell them that emergency services are not for the amusement or benefit of individual families, but are only to be used when someone's life is in danger. Right now their father is teaching them the wrong lesson about what they're for.

I agree, no sympathy. They played with our emotions when the child was fine the whole time. They then lied to everyone about the hoax to cover it up.

These people deserve to be the pariahs they most certainly will become.

Given the family's at least two appearances on reality television (Wife Swap), and the fact that the son, Falcon, said they did it for the "show," we might assume that despite the fact that they may be starved for attention, that they were working in collusion with some media source.

We understand how structured so-called "reality" television is, and what appears more spontaneous on the surface is actually a "show" (not specifically "Wife Swap") that is painstakingly orchestrated/manufactured.

What is odd is that the family was introduced on Wife Swap with a large ufo model behind them, and a list of conspiracy/ufo beliefs they held - beliefs that actually reflect, for the most part, our current understanding of reality.

It's as if a comprehensive list was provided to the public to research. Wilcock mentions this in a recent article,

If we understand that the mainstream media has been increasingly working towards disclosure over the last three or four years (helped in large part by Larry King Live), and includes the more recent "I Know What I Saw" documentary on the History Channel, then we can infer that something related and just as structured would be utilized in this enlightenment agenda.

This is what David Wilcock writes about the History Channel documentary, "I Know What I Saw,"

...In one radio show with acclaimed television producer Margaret Wendt, she openly revealed that the network heads insisted on having skeptics appear in any and all UFO documentaries if they are to air on television. They would say this was required in order to have it be a 'balanced' program.

The notable thing about this documentary is that there are no skeptics coming in and bashing the various arguments that are made. You are shown two different cases where there are clear correlations -- pilot sightings, ground sightings and radar tracings. That's about as bonafide as you can get, and it's all here in this documentary...

So, Wilcock correctly observes that the network isn't even interested in appearing to balance/counter this pro-ufo/ET information.

This in itself is significant enough, but there are so many other outlets through which this information is being broadcast that the agenda is clear.

If you control virtually every media outlet and you want to advance an agenda, your efforts will be comprehensive and creative.

Wilcock called the balloon incident,

a synchronistic "meta-message" flagging the increasing possibility of an upcoming mainstream UFO disclosure.

I would suggest that there isn't much of a synchronicity or meta-message here as much as just another avenue where this agenda is being advanced.

Add to this the Lifetime Channel's "announcement" that they're pulling the Heene family episode from their schedule, again drawing attention to/perpetuating this story, and you have the makings of a national hoax that just happens to be centered on the subject of ufos, human ETs, reptilians, and the like, all wrapped up in a sensational package, but palatable and cleverly informative on some very esoteric subject matter.

What a great way to assist the effort.

I smell a D I V O R C E brewing on the horizon for this woman. Her husband is a dolt. They both should pay big for what they did and for what they subjected their son to.

This is what our Reality TV crazy nation gets you. Everyone wants to be Jon and Kate.

So many news stories today are hoax rubbish, the news media just makes alot of stuff up, and i would not be surprised if they used actors to play certain things in news items, lol.

I applaud the woman for telling the truth. Sheesh. Think about what that attention whore has done to his family. Those kids are probably terrified now that the parents face jail time. Regardless of whether they go to jail or not, it's hard to imagine that life will ever be the same for them. The six year old has probably been labeled "balloon boy" forever and you really have to think that all of them will probably be teased by other kids for a very long time. That guy is one of those people that should have never had children. It's one thing when you do stupid stuff on your own to try to get attention, but when you include your children... well, that's just criminal. Stupid people shouldn't breed.

I was shocked to see this admission by the mother. I really thought that the balloon was built to attract attention to the family, for a reality show, etc., -- but I didn't think that when the balloon left the property it was done by design.

Further, when the 6-yr. old said on Larry King that "it was done for a show", I figured he really meant that the balloon itself was built for a show -- not the launch.

I just can't imagine how any parent would think that creating a national concern for the safety of a child would garner a reality show contract.

Just doesn't make any logical sense to me.

If they were willing to go this far for fame -- I'm surprised they really didn't put the poor kid in the balloon to begin with.

There's something more to this than just a hoax. It seems like some kind of set up for some type of so called disclosure (whatever). One interesting coincidence I came across reading on a site I frequent stated that the nasa GENESIS probe crashed at 40.13N 113.51W, then at 33.66N 104.65W you find the ROSWELL crash site. Guess what happened at the point where these two places intersect ? Oh you betcha at 40.02N 104.5W you get the Colorado balloon landing site. So what could they be setting us up for the genesis of alien disclosure. If so get ready for a huge plan to unfold. I'm not so sure about this whole situation but that's just something interesting I picked up reading on another site. Take it for what it is. Think about what sort of living environment he and his idiotic wife were putting these kids in. They were reinforcing that it is OK to punk society for financial gains.

I think he is going to find out the HARD WAY, what he thought was funny, wasn't worth it in the end! Prisons can be, for someone like him, a nightmare.

I doubt that his marriage will survive this...

The ~HORRIBLE HEENE'S~ have been desperately seeking attention be it good OR bad for a looooooong time. I think its all just Richard's desire for fame and his family is pulled along behind in the wake of his desperation for attention. He forces his wife and raises his children to be sycophants to his warped thought process...VERY sad indeed.

Take the example I am giving in this Heene Family music video called ~PUSSIFIED~ where near the end the kids sing that 'a pussified faggot peed on him'..... WTF?????
......no DOUBT at all that the freakish father wrote this terrible so called 'music' and TAUGHT his children the words......filled with burping and farting this video doesn't even RESEMBLE actual 'music' the garbled guitar noise and erratic harmonica blasts do not make this trashy video 'musical'

My mouth was washed with soap for using language such as this but Richard Heene TEACHES and PROMPTS such verbiage from his children. He needs a serious parenting class, and some good old fashioned jail time IMO.

This video blatantly shows EXACTLY what those people are all about, and its NOTHING GOOD at all.

I've seen some pretty dumb things, but damn. Nothing would please me more than seeing that Dad stuck in a jailcell with Big Bubba. It's hard for me to picture that this guy is almost 50 years old.
