"Thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself."
Leviticus ch. 11, v. 7

Just because we have largely failed to do so thus far doesn't mean we should stop trying.

As for not keeping pigs to eat, fine if you are living in the desert where you don't want pigs wallowing in your limited oasis water supply trying to rid themselves of parasites et cetera. However, it doesn't make sense to enforce such a ban in those parts of the world where there is sufficient water for the pigs to clean themselves, as is their healthy want.

There is liberty and there is taking liberties:
I believe that a perception to the desirability of the first should preclude the latter, in a spirit of do unto others as you would have them do unto you; as part of a reciprocating, balanced overall, Universe: time past present:present future:
Some call it Karma ~ what goes around comes around:

PUCK: "How now, spirit! whither wander you?"

"Prophecy is the lamp of world's light,
But ecstasy in the same niche has room,
The Spirit's is the breath that sighs through me,
And mine the thought that blows the trump of doom.
Vision said it in my eye,
Moses stood on Sinai"
al Hallaj ~ Sufi poet, put to death in Baghdad for his thinking.

Osama bin Laden's All Queer Ada and the Taliban want a return of the 'Caliphate.'
However, it is my stellar plasma fusion generated 'Holy Ghost' opinion that in our day and age they are much more likely to get a return to the 'Kalifate.'
What is the Kalifate you may ask!
The Kalifate is that part of the collective human consciousness composed of Suttee widows ( and burnt dowry brides), who despairing of the cruel fate meted out to Hindu widows, would formerly prefer to throw themselves into the flames of their dead husband's funeral pyres, as Brahmin recommended. There to burn to death in terrible brain on fire roaring red black eyed agony.

Time past present:present future: such brain on fire agonised Hindu women if Limbo time crossed cross referenced, are available to connect as psychic/telepathy houris, as promised by Muhammad. A Kalifate indeed to those deserving ~ However, 72 of such brain on fire houris would be excessive for one man, methinks!
Perhaps the 'foot bound' mind clamp metaphysical houris of China, created for the physical pleasure of pervert foot fetishist Han Mandarin types, could help out in the houri variety stakes:
Then there are all those 'flood of pain' African 'cow price' virgin houris who suffer sexual chakra mutilation. To call it 'circumcision' is a misnomer. The clitoris has as many nerve endings as the glans penis ~ think about it guys!

Patriarchal thinking men have long considered women to be their obedient chattels to bend to their physical, and often cruel 'shut your mouth' domination. However, all that physical pain inflicted upon women by men has brought about a situation where the choices are stark:
A huge number of metaphysical houris of agony in limbo time crossed cross referenced seeking psychic/telepathy connection with those in universe deserving such houri Karma: Or total destruction of Planet Earth: A Kalifate available to mankind who have 27,000 Fatman & Little Boy type fission fireball devices in their enormous diabolical arsenals:

It would seem to me to be a terrible eternally recurring fate to experience 72 such time crossed cross referenced 'Holy Ghost' metaphysical houris in stellar plasma fusion generated 'Holy Ghost' mind, and then be awarded with a 'Holy Ghost' stellar ejaculation enforcer halo about the throat chakra of communication, just below the larger detumescent dickhead of skulduggery, rather than the little dickhead of tumescent orgasm.

"Bless thee, Bottom! bless thee! thou art translated."

I think it fair to comment to the observation that some men when considering the merits of liberty versus slavery are entirely preoccupied with a masculine viewpoint thereto, with next to no consideration of any feminine perception pertaining thereof:

On page 99 of last month's National Geographic is a striking photograph of six women with young girl, of An-Nadzir commune in Islamic Indonesia.
The women are dressed in the full hijab as if they live in the hot dust blown Arabian Peninsular where any body perspiration soon evaporates to the desiccating arid atmosphere.

Having lived in Darwin, N. T. Oz, a few hundred miles south of where these Indonesian women live, during the 'Wet' season about Christmas; when the combination of daily thunderous downpours with spells of hot sunshine create an ambient atmosphere that is saturated with steamy moisture, this National Geographic photograph appals me: In the hot humid equatorial tropics the human organism needs to expose perspiring body parts to every available cooling breeze if is not to overheat and suffer lasting brain damage.
Our 'naked ape' hairless bodies are an evolved adaptation to this purpose.
The human brain proportionate to overall human body mass is very large, and our ability to add & subtract clothing by way of rapidly adjusting our exerted body temperature is crucial to our large brain function. Brain tissue is far more sensitive to temperature irregularities than are body vehicle parts. Moreover, lost brain cells are irreplaceable, whereas there is a degree of regenerative possibility where cellular DNA replicating body parts are concerned.

One asks oneself, what might be the long term affect, if any, of this dressing for an arid desert climate in a moisture saturated jungle climate.
In such a situation I would be worried about a possible long term reverse evolution process, where to counter the overheating loss of brain tissue, the brains of women, and their issue, would eventually shrink by way of selection for ignoramus nitwits, and baboon others.
However, it is highly speculative, and in a world where mankind have 27,000 Little Boy & Fatman type fission fireball devices in their enormous disbolical arsenals, worrying about the possible long term shrinkage of S. E Asian human brains is perhaps a pointless exercise.
Nevertheless, I think of any Imams & Mullahs concerned ~ you parrot minded fools ~ you have brains to think with ~ or have you parrot shrunk them?
'Humpty Dumpty ~~~ Who's a pretty boy then?'
A Fat what?
All aaahh & aargh when fitted with stellar plasma fusion generated neutrinosynthesiser 'Holy Ghost' ejaculation enforcer halos, as conscience required.
For censors too perhaps & maybe!

I never wear a hat except it be dictated by climatic conditions.
The mandatory wearing of hat type head coverings unsuitable to prevailing climatic conditions in a world of many climatic zones open to human occupation, is the utmost of brain shrinking follies, in my humble stellar plasma fusion generated neutrinosynthesiser cosmic consciousness opinion ~ uncensored ~ but you may neutrinosynthesiser censor at your own eternally recurring double jeopardy:

Have we not covered this point before?
Did I not mention a hypothetical land whose science, as believed and accepted by them, held that to deny sex to the innocent child is to warp and damage the future mental health of these little ones?
And should this occur would not the Christian parent say "I care not for their science. My faith declares and I believe small children being intimate at recess is a most disgusting sin.
And would this hypothetical nation, were it able through force of arms to compel us to comply with what their science claims to be good for our children, would they be morally justified to do so?
If you say yes I believe you would be part of a very very small minority.
Yet if you say no then what was the point of your last post to claim that science endorses our interference with cultures that have their women dress in unhealthy garb. Understanding it is our science and we accept it but they may not pointing out 'our women have dressed thus for thousands of years. Where is the de-evolution you predicted? Do you consider all our women idiots? Who slanders womankind now?' Agree or disagree, it matters not. Have they not the right to their opinion? Or does the world only have a right to your opinion?

Everybody is entitled to their own opinion ~ it goes without saying.

As an adult the idea of having sex with a child is repulsive to me:

However, ignorance is the worst slavery of all:
Ignorance is also that which is called innocence and each and every cell of the body contains a coiled serpent of DNA code, and from that 'Temptor' comes us all aahhh & aargh:

Being an opinionated negotiated wage slave in an industrialised economy is part of the social contract for most citizens.
Sex slavery however, is not generally viewed as socially acceptable, but does exist, especially for women.

One shocking report I read on female sex slavery came out of Afghanistan, or 'Effghanistan' as Jon Stewart on a Daily Show would have it. Where I learned that impoverished fathers can be persuaded to sell their young daughters to sex slave traders; who then surreptitiously take them to Arabian parts. There to be sold as concubines to wealthy Arabs.
Because virgins fetch premium prices in this concubine sex slave market, the young women are guarded in the vaginal sense until sold to their wealthy Arab buyers.
However, while in transit these young women sex slaves are often subjected to sexual penetration in the anus by their captor, middle men owners, because apparently anal intercourse is not considered a loss of virginity by those taking part in this sex slave trade.
Shocking what!
I should imagine that if questioned as to their sexual orientation, the men involved in this odious trade, and if they could speak in words of more than one 'ugh' syllable, would claim to be heterosexual!
Ugh indeed!
Perhaps as sex slave concubines the women concerned are able to give each other a compensatory hug!

I wonder if incontinent guys involved in the concubine sex slave trade industry, would like to experience stellar plasma fusion generated neutrinosynthesiser ejaculation enforcer 'shoot to the stars' haloes, about the houri paradised~paralysed pneumo~gastric nerve parts?

If any particular 'type' of story hits me the most, it's this. Slavery and people trafficking stories just seem to leave me shaking with anger. I don't know whether it's a desensitisation issue born from familiarity and repetition, but I find this more distressing than stories about murders and so on.

In fact, whilst usually fervently against the death penalty, it's slavery and people trafficking stories that make me think twice about the issue. Some murders and even rapes, I suppose, are, for want of a better term, spur of the moment 'red mist' type scenarios, but slavery and people trafficking is practically always pre-meditated.

The thought of someone, in a relatively clear state of mind, thinking its right or acceptable to treat other people like this is beyond me.

i agree with you, and think these people involved deserve to be shot. no prison time, just shoot them. and on the spot if its involved with kids. there is no one not guilty even surrounding child prostitution except for maybe other slaves. i hope there is some sort of group of people working to get rid of some of these people

Being an old fool in a meander of literary mind, I thought to amuse myself by making a change in the previous post I made to this 'modern slave trade' thread.

Halfway down the post I've made an addition to the sentence end beginning as follows: ~ Whilst I don't profess to fully understand game theory extrapolated ramifications thereto ~ it is a bit of a Rum Jungle do apparently ~ so says my range rover, carrying new drill bit, Stuart Highway driver from Woking; Hitchhiker's Guide to the Darwin bound:
