My first example: Rush LImbaugh excluded from the NFL because of purported comments that have yet to be proven. I work in a 30 y/o hotel/casino in Las Vegas, Nevada. I left here for 7 years...I am now the Minority as a native son. I am not racsict by any way mean nor form. I appreciate all people based on there actions. If your rude.......your a donkey.....if your someone with class I adore you. I treat those in the same manner or better as they treat me. But: Rush can't be a minor owner in the NFL? Hell...I don't even listen to him anymore(for many years)..nor do I watch many football games.....(sick of the "billion" dollar players)....I couldn't sit in a stadium at watch it live with my son's money.

Whats wrong here??????????? I'm going to 57 this month...and I'm young for my age......whats wrong here?

How many of my ATS associates even get it.....his conservative noise should mean nothing to this.

I'm disturbed by this and wish you all to "educate me".

Your title sounds remarkably familiar. Have your read my recent thread on Human Resources or possibly Orangetom1999 response?

As far as Rush being excluded, I think the statement they're trying to make is that they don't care to associate with people whose character they question. Whether I agree with them or not, or with Rush Limbaugh or not you have a point. Business should be business and personal should be personal.

In the case of celebrities like RL, he has decided to make his personal (beliefs and opinions) his business. It seems like a bit of emotional blackmail to me but it's not entirely unexpected.

Good point. Maybe they should take the log out of their own eye before complaining about the splinter in someone else's.

RL is a controversial figure and you either love him or you hate him. Too volatile to gamble on for business purposes, is my guess.

I think the term "diversity" is misused. I went to a fairly liberal university. Diversity meant people of different races that all subscribed to the same liberal beliefs.

In this day and age there is little need to force diversity. Most employers who are looking for the very best people to fill jobs will end up hiring a diverse workforce anyway. People from non-WASP backgrounds will often have marketable skills that might not be present in WASP's.

For example, my father used to have many Spanish speaking customers. He used to hire Spanish speaking people to serve the Spanish speaking customers. These Spanish speaking employees were often Hispanic.

Another example is that many companies are trying to do business in foreign markets like India, China, and Latin America. They need people who are familiar with these countries languages and culture and have connections in these countries. The people who meet these criteria will often be from non-WASP backgrounds.
