Let us assume for argument's sake Obama was not born in the US...so what?

Nobody denies George W. Bush was born in the US and he was an awful president. Just because Obama was allegedly born outside the US, it does not mean that your rights are being taken away.

I know the Constitution requires the US president to be American born, but this violation in and of itself does not harm anybody. It seems people are getting quite bent out of shape over a technicality.

I would much rather live in an America where someone born in Kenya (or wherever Obama "was really" born) sneaked into the oval office than an America where someone in the Oval Office was throwing away important civil liberties like: free speech, freedom from illegal searches and seizures, and due process. I would much rather live in an America where a Kenyan sneaked into the oval office with a majority of the popular vote than an America where a fool can get into the oval office with less than 50% of the vote.

okay your right. its only a small problem. fine presidents dont need to be born in the united states.

Protesting, no one does that anymore. lets just remove that one too. guns are dangerous lets just edit that rule too.

You do not move the stones a house is built on.

Now think of it like this, everyone knows politicians lie but this is a pretty big lie. If Obama conceals that he is not Born in teh USA then what other lies would he be willing to perpetrate onto a gullible population ? perhaps if he was also gay and muslim ?

Were does it end ?

Have you seen the state of America lately? To say the union is strong would be a grouse over statement imo.

And your bush analogy is strange to say the least, in so far that if he ruined our country at least it was done by an American and not some foreign usurper.

Its against the law. So what you are saying is that you would rather be led by someone who lied to you and deceived you to get in office. Maybe if Obama was the last good man in the country to be President, but this just isn't the case.

Also all those other 'rules' of that silly old constitution can go out the window too.

Pssha Must be born in the USA, what a silly thing!

But then we just start taking more and more down.

I find it funny you are even posing this question. Is someone having doubts?

Are we now paving the way for an excuse to keep him in office IF he is found to be Kenyan born?

Plus, from what I can see, whatever Bush did to harm this country is nothing compared to what Obama has planned to destroy the nation and to turn it into some quasi-Socialist/Communist nation. I would rather have Bush any day.

First the constitution is not an infallible document. While some of it is good, other parts are flawed. For example, it allows someone to win the presidency even if another candidate gets more of the popular vote. Perhaps the portion about the president being American born is on the same level as the portion calling for the electoral college, an anachronism that might not make much sense today.

Look the reason it is in the Constitution is so that somebody cannot come here from another country, get into power and undermine the Constitution. Hmmmm, Obama would never do that would he?

I really do not understand how one could say that it does not matter where our leader was BORN. It seems to me a matter of national security.

We HAVE to know where our ruler's loyalty lies.

If you look back at the historical perspective of rulers in England marrying rulers from Germany or wherever, and all the problems that caused, can you seriously say that it doesn't MATTER?

I tend to wonder if Obama's mom wasn't CIA, and on assignment when baby O was born. I don't know that, but it sure would explain an awful lot.

Obama's alleged lie about his birthplace is not the biggest lie by a politician in living memory. George W. Bush lied about WMD's, and as a result tens of thousands of people in Iraq were killed and the Middle East was further destabilized. Republicans are lying everyday by saying things like there is no such thing as global warming and homosexuals are conspiring to brainwash your children.

Again, George W. Bush was surely born in the US and by no means was he a patriotic American. George W. Bush sure growled a lot about smoking Al Qaida out of its holes, but his lips were surgically attached to the buttocks' of the Saudis who funded Bin Laden.

I normally try to see someones side of an issue, especially when I ca njust tell there is going to be a swarm against them, but you really just don't have a leg to stand on here.

First off, you can't say that NO ONE will dispute G. Bush being an awful president. You just said no one will dispute a certain opinion, which is impossible.

You say none of our rights were harmed. He is not done with his term yet. I hope Obama can overcome the difficulties that lie ahead in his presidency, but I just don't feel it happening. I think there is a major blunder waiting to happen and then we WOULD be hurt by his reign as president. Since he is only begun, you cannot say no harm will come, we just don't know yet.

Also, the minute you start saying that one certain aspect of our constitution can be averted, you open the floodgates for other interpretations. One cannot change it around for convenience for their candidate, or any other personal reason. It must be maintained.

There are other things wrong with your assumptions, but those are the main points as I see them.

Why are you so intent with having someone who is not from your country run it? If they were not born here or raised here how can we expect them to adhere to the established laws and right's we Americans have? You can't imo, why should you your not from the country. That clause is in there for a reason to protect the American public.

Republicans are lying everyday by saying things like there is no such thing as global warming and homosexuals are conspiring to brainwash your children.

Are you so sure those two things are lies?
It has been relatively cold as ice in the US most of this year, and even if the globe is warming who is to say it isn't caused by something else. All the rest of the planets in the solar system are heating up to, so is taxing the hell out of us going to solve the problem.

Educating kindergardners about homosexuality could be construed as brainwashing even by non-Republicans.

It's not about lowering the bar. Even if Obama was Kenyan born, it does not necessarily mean that he is not going to make the decisions that are necessary for him to effectively lead the country.

From what I can see this is the more true statement. The man has never even worked in the real world before. He has been a community organizer, educator, or politician his whole life. He has no idea about finances or how to run a financially responsible organisation.
