Why did your family leave you, was it because you didnt believe in god ?? And have you tried a different religion ?? I was raised a catholic and went to a few catholic churches and I didnt feel the connection but when I went to a christian church the people were great, they had this peace about them.

i too was raised catholic.

yes they will not talk to me because of my lack of faith.

i have looked into all religions as far as Buddhism. the only thing ive found i like somewhat was called zen Buddhism. (i think please correct me if i'm wrong) Which is the search for inner peace, without the belief in a greater conscious.. so still atheism...

the last thing my mom said to me was that she just did not understand how someone could not believe in god, and that i was going to hell for sure

it doesnt really bother me.. if they arent going to talk to me because i wont believe in something there is no proof of, im better of without them........

Major western religions have always been a source of confusion to me.

But about two years ago the solution began to occur to me. It involved pinpointing the root of human made evil. Evidence repeatedly confirms that it is to an overwhelming degree competition against others. That is predation more or less.

We are innately predatory as well as teachers of it in society. I want to break that chain whenever I can.

PS. Competition isn't always bad. We can do well to compete against our own accomplishments or others' so long as we don't take something away from someone else, whether respect, esteem, material goods, or emotional or psychological well-being, unless they fully understand why they are happy to give it up.

I reject that, how did the thief on the cross partake of communion? You're holding onto a justification of faith + works, and the Bible clearly states that man is justified by faith alone, not by works lest any man should boast.

What did the thief say that led Christ to tell him that very second he was saved?
