This isn't actually an experience I had, but one my mother (Suzanne) had. We are from Australia. She told me this story years ago, but I feel it's worth sharing, as it's highly intriguing. Her father died in 1967 when she was 2 years old. She was about 18 when she had this experience, which was roughly 20 years ago. Now that you have all the history you need to know...on with the story.

Suzanne went to sleep, and awoke on a UFO. She was standing in the middle of a large empty and clinical looking room, but with other people standing around the room, who she suspects were there for similar reasons. She couldn't move. She claims that she was then spoken to telepathically. She was told that she was going to be taken back in time, to a point where she could see her father. They also told her that she was only to obverse him...she wasn't allowed to interact with him in any way.

She was suddenly standing inside a block of old flats, probably the 3rd floor she says, near an old window with white peeling paint. She claims she was wearing hippy clothes, with a leather strap around her head, and a guitar in her hands. She looked out the window, and noticed a Beatles concert taking place, in what looked like a town square. There were lots of people around and the area was fenced off. She tells me she had the feeling she was still in Australia.

She then noticed her father walking down the street, amongst all the people. She knew it was him from the second her eyes gazed upon his face. She ignored the instructions given to her, and started running as fast as she could, down the stairs, out side the building and towards her father. She says she was about 20 meters from him, when suddenly she was back in the UFO. Then within the blink of an eye, she was outside of the UFO, she says she felt as though she had been thrown out, and was in trouble...like they were angry she couldn't control her emotions.

She was standing on a ledge outside the craft, and the UFO was hovering on top of water, she had the feeling it was previously hiding under the water, although she didn't actually see it under water. She explains that the structure looked way to perfect, the joints had no welding or bolts, it looked, and I quote - "surreal". She felt compelled to touch it...she claims that it felt like jelly, but not slimy...silky and malleable...like it was made of some sort of weird liquid. The craft made a noise which frightened her, and she jumped off, into the water. As soon as she hit the water, she woke up in bed.

She was visiting her own mother a few months later, and told her about the dream. Her mother told her, that her father had actually gone to see a Beatles concert when they were playing in Australia.

EDIT:Why exactly was this sent to the skunk works...it isn't a highly speculative or outlandish theory...merely a story I wanted to tell, and get feedback on...I can see why it wasn't really suited to the Philosophy forum...but MODS, could it be possible to move this to the Alien forum?

Dreams are fantastic, I love them.

This was just a dream. To me it shows her longing to see her father that she never knew. She would do anything to see him again, even if it meant not listening to what people or aliens say.

She might have read an article about aliens within a few days of the dream, and brought up from her subconscious, hearing about her father having seen the Beatles.

Quite a weird combination, but still just a dream, I believe.

She was testing herself, perhaps, as to what she would do to see her father if she could, not a test from aliens.

Thats cool story. Pretty interesting but.. How could she feel like she was above water but think she was underwater?

Um, she told me she suspected it was hiding under the water...just a feeling she had, she didn't actually see it under water. I should add that to the original post.

Yeah...it could have been a dream...but the thing that gets me is she claims she couldn't have possibly known he went to a Beatles concert. The other interesting thing is the detail and realism of her dream, she says it was one of those dreams where you can't tell it apart from real life. Also, I've heard a lot of accounts from those who claim to have been abducted by Aliens, and there are a lot of similarities. The structure of the ship for instance, no welding or bolts...and telepathic communication...I know it could be coincidence...but my brain tends to tell me it was more than coincidence...

I had a dream once that I could have lived in for the rest of my life because it was just so real and so true to my daily routine (of the time that I had it I mean, if I dreamt it now i'd wonder what was happening). Eventually I managed to get out: I realised I was dreaming and I punched the person next to me with the idea that I would actually be punching the wall. I did and woke up in a bit of pain. The funny thing is I can recall this dream as i would a memory, and it turned out to have a vision of the future in it (I suspect I had been told something, forgotten it, and then it came out in the dream and I believed it to have been a premonition.).

Last night I dreamt about being chased by demon possessed by the spirit of Henry VIII who needed the sacred shoelace in order to truly come back and take over the country as he did before. I loved it, and it was really realistic (sort of), but yet it was a dream.

I suspect that your Mother had a realistic dream and that she had, somehow, known that her Father went to a Beatles concert (don't know how, maybe he told her when she was a baby or something and somehow that memory hadn't died).
