Interview with an Extraterrestrial

Scene: In an artificial bubble on the surface of Ganymede (one of Jupiter's moons),
an alien explorer describes his visit to Earth.

Thoughtful commentary that I ran across tonight and seemed interesting enough to post here. Whether mods approve is a different story.

Can you give us a general picture of Earth and its inhabitants?
The planet is rather pretty, with lots of natural resources. "Fertile" isn't too strong a word, especially when compared with most places in the local system. There are lots of energy sources, easily accessed, and lots of chemical resources as well. And we think this fertility is why the Earth's inhabitants — the "humans" — have such distorted ideas about reality.

i'm extremely skeptical haha but interesting read. it's good science fiction at the least. and hell it could be real.

Everything is too hot or too cold, too big or too small. Reality is viewed solely in terms of a human's immediate needs.

Starred and Flagged, good post, and wonderful article. Makes me wish I had written it myself. I have often wondered what ET thinks of human beings, their ways, their beliefs, and their destructive qualities, racism, bigotry, warmongering, and stupidity. They must think of us as children.

Dont have time to read right now, but wanted to post so I could find this thread later and comment on the topic. Love this kind of stuff, would love to get an interview with an alien myself one day.
