There is a difference between working hard and hardly working.

House Cuts Work-Week to 2 1/2 Days

The Democratic-led House -- in the middle of the biggest healthcare fight in a generation -- has now trimmed their workweek to just two and a half days, leaving members of Congress plenty of time to ski or play golf.

Last time I checked, our Nation was in the middle of a Crisis with several important issues that need to be resolved.

Now, it would be one thing if our Politicians were so efficient that they could hammer out an agreeable solution to all of our problems in but 2 1/2 days a week, but since they haven't successfully resolved any single issue facing our Nation thus far, how do they think that cutting their work week in half will actually allow them to finally come up with viable solutions?

If I had an employee that demanded a Salary raise after raise and then only showed up to work half the time and still got zero work accomplished, I'd fire him in a heartbeat!

The House better give the American People (their Employers) something to show for their "hard" work while hardly working, otherwise they are going to be facing the Unemployment Lines come this Fall.

The upside is they won't be able to do as much damage as they would if they were working full time. They should get their pay cut in half.

What a crock! Vote 'em out ASAP!

good f'in grief!! How much do we pay these flippin' losers?

These guys give themselves regular raises and they have the best healthcare package in the nation (mostly paid for by us) and they don't want to spend more than 2 1/2 days a week to figure out how to give us great healthcare???

I'm fuming right now...

People all across this country work their asses off and can barely make ends meet and these guys get pooped after 2 1/2 days? They SHOULD NOT be making the same amount of money for working less. On top of that, how many week to two week long and sometimes even a month's vacation do they get?

Maybe we should kill two birds with one stone by voting out the Politicians and voting Homeless Unemployed Bums into Office instead. We can take a chunk out of our Homeless and Unemployment problems while getting those who don't want to work out of their positions of power.

I did see a guy on the street corner just the other day that said "Will run the government for food."

There are plenty of people in this country willing to put in an honest days work if you give them a chance. That's more than what can be apparently said of those in our own government.

I can see the bumper stickers now. "Street-corner Willy, Everybody's Representative for Office"

Heh, I think this tipped their hand even more. They don't actualy do anything. It doesn't take long to vote on bills and make soundbites. Everything is done by proxy via third parties. This just emphasizes it

The people wanted the Dems to control DC.

To paraphrase my all time favorite movie.

Some men you just can't reach. So you get what we had here last election, which is the way they wanted it... well, they get it. I don't like it any more than you men.

We need to hit the reset button on the government.

I'm with you on that, it might be painful at first but as the saying goes no pain no gain.

Until someone hits the button these scumbags need to be paid hourly. They should clock in and clock out just like the rest of the slave I mean working class. Pay them a fair living wage and that's it.

I dream of the day we get to see these crooks paraded down the street in orange jumpsuits. They should be put in a hard labor camp to work off the billions they stole from us the taxpayers. Pay them minimum wage for their work, that should effectively imprison them for life.

When will Americans realize just haw totally worthless these as#holes really are?

Considering the condition this country is in, they don't merit a shorter work week, what they merit is is a trial for treason.

Ummmmm...the work week was not cut to 2 1/2 days. Even when it was under the republican controll, the average work week was 2-3 days (probably closer to 2). Pelosi made a big stink about it and promised to make them work at least 3-4 days. It didn't last long and we are now back to 2 1/2 day work weeks. Stop making up news...although thank you for bringing it to the attention of other Americans.

This is the first good news I've seen! I think this is the best use of our money so far.

Let them golf, let them ski....just keep them away from making any policies or voting on any more legislature that they haven't even read!

They've done us NO GOOD by going to work -- so yes, I'd rather them stay the heck home!!!!

Good riddance!

So the government should work less while earning more, while the "we, the people" work more while earning less? Money should be taken from the congress' salaries to bail out the taxpayers. If there was no money or power in politics, how many of the politicians do you think would be there?
