The fact that people treat SNL and The Daily Show as news pretty much sums up where the general direction of the country is....swirling down the toilet bowl.

And note that they said "SNL is an important factor in how many people get their information around the world..." and not about the world. Something that adds a nice extra touch of ignorance to the whole thing implying that either the US is the whole world or that the whole world actually cares or is aware of SNL existence.

Like if the entire world be stupid enough to consider a crappy show like SNL as news source, damn!

And people still wonder why aliens don't make contact...

Man...it's so true. I remember debating my cousin on some political issues over some Thanksgiving turkey a few years back, and was just absolutely amazed at how wrong he was on so many things. I asked him point blank....where are you getting your info from? You know what he told me? The Daily Show!!!! He said Jon Stewart is a genius too!

So lets see, if this (SNL) is where people are getting their news/info from as suggested by CNN, I guess that is why people think Palin is such a stump. So thanks to CNN we now know that everything SNL said about Obama was untrue........ whew!

So does that mean everything SNL said about Palin was untrue?

Double standard in your face.......... Lets all chuckle at the stupid republican getting completely ripped on SNL, but how dare they attack the Democratic President.

It was funny watching that, I actually caught this live when it came on CNN by fluke. The "best polical team on television" showed their usual inability to take a joke. The dem analysts they have on CNN were falling over themselves trying to mention all the things Obama has actually done that SNL never mentioned, and in the same breath, oh its okay though its just a joke.......... but remember Obama did thins and Obama did that.... and the Wars are Bush's wars not Obama's blah blah blah.....

Usual right/left bull

I think CNN Fact Checking the SNL skit is pretty telling of just how conned and duped the American Public was when the Powers that Be saddled us with Obama.

They basically weren’t content with the just ‘anyone can literally run the country for us’ when they handed George W. Bush the presidency, they really, really wanted to prove ‘anyone can literally run the country for us’ and then made Obama his successor.

Though his supporters will cry and pout and stamp their feet and point fingers at George W. Bush the predecessor and forerunner idiot to prove anyone can literally run the country as a means of deflection, the basic fact is that Obama has never accomplished anything in his life and career except get government jobs, or government grants!

The problem now for the media is as Obama looses all his credibility they will too right along with him, because anyone who can separate Hollywood from Washington D.C. and can actually read could have read Obama’s short list of actual accomplishments besides getting government grants and using one political office as a stepping stone to the next without actually doing anything for the people who elected him while in office.

Obama really is a joke, and it’s going to end up making the 3 ring mainstream news media into a joke too for those who have wanted to believe it’s credible.

The reality is that Obama has accomplished a lot of bad and damaging things, it won’t be too long I imagine before the jokes switch from what he has failed to accomplish to the incredibly damaging things he has accomplished via the bailouts and his insane attempts at social engineering.

Of course the joke is on us not him, he got himself the number 1 government job in the land with a nice steady paycheck and plenty of fringe benefits for 4 long years.

Maybe we will get lucky and he will quit the first time one of his government paychecks bounce.

Dude, it's alllll in your head, thats just something you THINK they are thinking.

Saturday Night Live has had the out most support for him in the past. And this just shows their trust in him being taken away ever so slowly. Wake up call Obama! I'm glad this is being shown all over. Maybe this will hit some peoples mark and remember him preaching these same topics. Eh, if the fluoride in the water hasn't damaged their brains.

Wow. I really hate to say it but you are absolutely right. SNL has mocked every president since it began. For 34 years, they did it without any 'news' channels feeling the need to correct them. To do it now sticks out like a sore thumb.

I say lets end the wars who's with me on that. Even if you like Obama do you still hate war or is war good now if Obama is President.

You are correct, it's like all the "No More War" bumber stickers were ever so conveniently removed and burned.
Seems I remember the MSM giving us the total soldier death count almost on a daily basis but now it's like these deaths no longer matter.

I'm with you on ending all wars but there is no way you or anyone else can guarantee us, that for every weapon we lay down, the enemy will do the same.

If the Iraq war was for oil, the Afghan war is for heroin.
...and so it goes.

Wow.

I think from both ends of the spectrum, this is an insult to my intelligence.

First, SNL trivializing broken "promises", which involve people suffering and dying..

Then, CNN's seemingly damning "free speech", claiming SNL as an important factor of how people get information for American politics, and telling us that Obama is the leader of the "free world".

What the hell does "leader of free world" even mean?! That phrase alone does not even make sense! :shk:

Obviosuly it's a slow news day at CNN when they're running stories to fact check a comedy/parody. At least with SNL it's masked by being in a show that most people don't find funny enough to watch anymore. I think someone should tell them about The Daily Show. They make presidential jokes all the time and people actually watch that show.

Stole the words right from my mouth.

Whats new, your blind if you didnt know that CNN is sucking Obamas ****. What the real story here is, is that Zucker and Emmelt allowed SNL to do a skit about Obama. I cant believe that got past them, I do believe someone is going to pay for this, heads will roll with SNL.

You act as if "spending most of the show attacking Republicans" is merely a political bias and don't, apparently, even consider that it's due to the divisive and destructive politics of Republicans.

Not understanding that is being out of touch with reality. In my opinion

yeah, that's pretty much what it is, since we know stewart is mostly just a cheapshot artist who built his career making fun of bush because it was fashionable for the stay at home democraps who have a need to watch shows like that.

of course, you don't apparently, even consider that it's due to the divisive and destructive politics of Democrats as well. Seems any time one has been in office or power lately, more of our free speech gets taken away by legislation, as well as other rights.

But that's ok, your political bias shows enough to show your blindness to reality.

Well, here's the thing where the web site guy I never heard of got some things right. SNL is a bit of a distribution node for information on politics and other areas of society since its a kind of comedy that generally is just saying what the rest are thinking, and make satire material out of it.

i'm just suprised they didn't put dumbo ears on the person playing obambi

Very interesting to see SNL criticize Obama but i expect next week they make amends by complimenting him or doing a Palin skit and that this won't be a habit for them but i could be wrong.

The most interesting thing about all of this is that SNL presented pretty solid truths about all the things Obama has failed to even nearly accomplish

I liken Obama to the guy in your school that would run for school President and when he got on stage to sell his candidacy he would say things like

"If i become President we will have a 3 hour lunch period!!! and no homework yahhh!"

In all fairness though it's not Obama's fault that the Office of President has no power and that it is just a vestigial position that's modern function is to shake hands and give speeches.

Regarding the fact check, they are probably gonna come back and say it isn't true that Obama is going to give away a t-shirt to new car buyers.
