I always love how they try to say 75% of doctors want a public option, when almost all of them hate taking on medicaid patients.

Doctors hate taking on HMO's as well. This whole healthcare fiasco will not change no matter who RUNS healthcare. I.e. government or private insurance companies.

Look the hospital which is responsible for providing a majority of healthcare in the US is a FAILED BUSINESS MODEL! It tries to do to many things. Look at all the variety of patients that come into the average ER. You've got people with everything from chronic colds to people who were shot in the head. Does a t.v. manufacturer produce cell phones and computers and stay profitable? Of course not. They specialize. How can we expect hospitals who have a limited number of resources, overhead, and capital to take care of every different type of patient that could possibly come through their doors. It won't work. There is so much inefficiency and disorganization in hospitals it's crazy. I know first hand as I work in one. Most hospitals still have doctors WRITING orders and progress notes! LMAO! Do any of you understand just what that sentence right there means? That's like an accounting firm using a chinese counter to do business. Hospitals are so advanced in some areas yet so far behind in others.

Instead of medicine being about medicine it is now about how many PEOPLE can make money off the doctor-patient relationship

LAWYERS - MALPRACTICE
LAWYERS - CIVIL FORFEITURE
INSURANCE COMPANIES - HEALTH INSURANCE
INSURANCE COMPANIES - LIABILITY INSURANCE
BUREAUCRATS - GOVERNMENT
BUREAUCRATS - HMOS
FILE CLERKS - GOVERNMENT
FILE CLERKS - HMOS
OFFICE MANAGERS
ACCOUNTANTS
PAPERWORK VIOLATION BOUNTY HUNTERS

So how much of the health care dollar goes to pay for the red tape?? 50% 80% Anyone know??

Doctors dislike medicaid, but they hate private HMO's even more. If the government increased medicare/medicaid reimbursments along with a public option, the private healthcare companies would not stand a chance and they know it. That is why they are running scared and having their cronies call the POTUS a liar. Mmmm..smell the desperation.

We have plenty of socialized programs where the government competes with the private sector without the county falling into unabated, gasp!, socialism.

Seems like big Pharm and the HMO's think it is perfectly OK for someone to have to choose between electricity and medicine... doctor's bills or food for the next week. I love my country, but herlth care in the US makes me quite sad.

Looks like an infomercial for foot fungus cream to me. "Hey everybody look at all of those really smart people wearing white lab coats, they must be listening to someone or something very interesting." They must be on to something credible.

We all know that Dr.'s wear their lab coats just for fun when they aren't working in the hospitals. Heck my uncle wears his when he mows the lawn. It makes the neighbors think that he really knows what he is doing with the lawnmower.

Gimme a break. Obama has nothing new to say. He just regurgitates lines from previous speeches. Just like he did in Saturday's weekly address. A lot of what he sad Sat. came from a healthcare speech he made back in July.

He is spinning his wheels and today's little "look at all the Dr.'s on my side speech" just makes him look worse.

I wonder how long it took to find enough doctors to give him an audience today? If they were all really doctors?
