This underestimates everything that human and organic.
I think you mean 'undermines.'
Why so? What's the problem? There are already people running around with artificial limbs, replacement hearts, hips, voiceboxes...
Where do you draw the line? There isn't any obvious place. Current social convention appears to draw the line between "replacement" and "enhancement." It's "ok" to insert repalcement parts to restore function that has been lost. But not ok to improve on the basic form.
I ask why?

What we are is 'changing'. All the time. Its just very slow when its only biology based on selective reproduction.
Human beings have the urge to improve ourselves. That urge is fundamental. Its normally expressed in our selection of mate. Also in numerous other related industries e.g. cosmetic surgery.
When nano-tech improvement becomes possible it will be adopted. The desire will create a market. If you attempt to 'draw a line' you will simply create a black market. The end result will be the same tech delivered to the populace unshackled by regulation and with criminal quality control.
We need to be mature enough in our approach to tackle these issues in the open and regulate to generate legal wealth and ensure product safety.
Unless we render ourselves extinct, at some point with the effects of both genetic and nano-tech enhancement we will move past Homo Sapiens. The difference is it will be a change of our choosing.
The trick will be carrying our laws and ethics with us so we choose wisely.
