Never Seen Anything Like It

Down at the local 7-eleven today I came across a bottle of Jones soda that was well....odd to say the least.




I still drank the product, but what I find interesting is that this something there selling in a foreign country (Canada).

I'm not instigating any kind of hate towards the president of the United States. I just find it odd that this sort of thing is happening with regards to a political leader on a corporate label.

That's weird. This has to be the first president in history that in and of himself is a marketing gimmick.

I will have to agree with AD, probably no one in the US would buy it so they tried to foist it off on Canada.

Good question why is Obama's face being marketed in Canada and not the US?

Jones soda is known for being off the cuff.

To say Obama is being "marketed" is a little dramatic, no? It IS a soda. They were marketing themselves by using a popular figure. Would you be all up in arms if they made a Tom Cruise Pom Juice?

I understand people who disagree and dislike Obama, but if I want to see hate in all things US Government, I'll go back to ATS, where I haven't visited for weeks.

I live in the US, I drink Jones soda from time to time (since it's one of the few sodas here that doesn't have high fructose corn syrup in it) and I have yet to see Obama cola. Interesting.

Jones Soda always puts weird or funny pictures on their labels, usually people will send in their own pictures and if Jones likes it they will place it on the bottles for a short time. The pictures are always changing. This bottle of soda you picked up was a limited edition label issued for election. They have special/limited editions for almost anything from events to holidays, I remember a few years back they started a turkey and gravy soda and bring it back for Thanksgiving and xmas every year. I just checked their website and this month they have a special breast cancer awareness label.

Jones Soda also issued, McCain, Ron Paul, and Hil Clinton bottles to go with the election season, here are 2 links with the info.

Go to any book store and ask where the Obama section is.

Go take a stroll outside and tell me how many Obama t shirts, hats and just about any other type of merchandise you see.

Obama is being marketed, whether it is good or bad is not for me to say, but to deny it is happening is just being blind.
